Job Description:
African Land is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Engineer to join our team in Ghana. This role is crucial to our operations, combining expertise in land sourcing, construction project management, and collaboration with architects and quantity surveyors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing land acquisition opportunities, coordinating design and costing efforts, and managing construction projects from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Land Sourcing and Documentation:
- Identify, evaluate, and document all land sourcing leads and joint venture (JV) opportunities in Ghana.
- Conduct due diligence on land acquisition opportunities, ensuring alignment with company goals and regulatory requirements.
- Design and Cost Coordination:
- Collaborate closely with architects and quantity surveyors (QS) to develop project designs and cost estimates.
- Ensure that designs are practical, cost-effective, and aligned with project specifications and timelines.
- Construction Management:
- Oversee and manage construction projects across Ghana, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Monitor on-site activities, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and construction regulations.
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to resolve any challenges or delays.
- Reporting and Communication:
- Provide regular updates on project progress, land sourcing leads, and JV opportunities to the management team.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with all project stakeholders, ensuring alignment and timely decision-making.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in land sourcing, construction project management, and collaboration with design professionals.
- Strong understanding of construction practices, safety standards, and local regulations in Ghana.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
