Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Wigmore Trading collects when you use our website and services, why we collect it, how we use and share it, how we keep it safe, and the rights you have over it. We've written it in plain language and kept it as clear as we can.

Last updated: 11 August 2026 Applies to wigmoretrading.com Governed by the laws of Nigeria

01 Who we are

The organisation responsible for your personal data — the "data controller" — is Wigmore Trading.

Data controller

Wigmore Trading Limited (RC 1098828)
The Invent, KM 29 Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria
Also operating from Accra, London and New York
Email: sales@wigmoretrading.com

In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Wigmore Trading Limited. "You" means anyone who visits our website, contacts us, or uses our products and services. This policy covers the website at wigmoretrading.com; separate services or platforms we operate may have their own notices.

02 The law we follow

We handle personal data in line with applicable data protection law, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA), which is overseen by the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC). Where other data protection laws apply to a particular situation, we aim to meet those requirements too.

We only collect and use personal data where we have a proper basis to do so — for example, because you have asked us to provide a service, because we need it to perform a contract with you, to meet a legal obligation, for our legitimate business interests, or because you have given your consent.

03 Information we collect

We collect only the data we need to operate, respond to you and provide our services. That falls into three groups:

Information you give us

  • Your name, email address, phone number, company name and country when you contact us, message us on WhatsApp, or submit an enquiry or consultation-booking form.
  • Details of your request — the products, services or information you're asking about.
  • Order and account details when you buy a product or service, or create an account.
  • Information you provide when you apply to become a distributor, apply for a job, or subscribe to updates.

Payment information

  • When you pay for a service or product, payment details are handled by our payment providers and banks to process the transaction. We do not store full card details ourselves.

Information collected automatically

  • Basic technical and usage information — such as your IP address, browser type, device, the pages you visit and how you arrived — collected through cookies and similar technologies to help the website work and to understand how it's used.

04 How we use your information

We use the personal data we collect to:

  • Respond to your enquiries and provide the products, services and information you request.
  • Process and fulfil orders, bookings and payments.
  • Operate, maintain, secure and improve our website and services.
  • Communicate with you about your enquiry, order or account.
  • Send you updates, offers or marketing where you have agreed to receive them — and you can opt out at any time (see below).
  • Meet our legal, regulatory and record-keeping obligations, and protect against fraud and misuse.
Marketing & opting out

If you'd rather not receive promotional messages from us, you can opt out at any time — use the unsubscribe link in an email, reply asking us to stop, or email sales@wigmoretrading.com. Opting out of marketing won't stop essential messages about a service or order you've asked for.

05 Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device that help a website function and remember your preferences. We use them to keep the site working properly, to remember your choices, and to understand how the site is used so we can improve it.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and set your browser to warn you before accepting them — though some parts of the site may not work as well if you disable them.

06 Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only in these limited situations:

  • Service providers who help us run our business — for example payment processors, banks, hosting, IT and delivery partners — who may only use the data to perform their service for us and must keep it confidential and secure.
  • When you ask us to, or as needed to complete a transaction or provide a service you've requested.
  • To meet the law — where we're required to disclose data to comply with a legal obligation, respond to lawful requests, or protect our rights, safety, and that of others, and to prevent fraud.
  • Business transfers — if the business or its assets are reorganised, merged or sold, personal data may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

07 International transfers

Wigmore operates in Nigeria, Ghana, the United Kingdom and the United States, and some of the service providers we use may be based in other countries. This means your personal data may be processed outside your own country. Where personal data is transferred across borders, we take steps to ensure it remains protected in line with applicable data protection law.

08 How long we keep it

We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or for as long as the law requires us to — for example to meet tax, accounting or other legal obligations. When we no longer need it, we take reasonable steps to delete it securely or anonymise it.

09 Your rights

You have rights over the personal data we hold about you. Subject to the law, these include:

Access — ask for a copy of your data
Correction — have inaccurate data fixed
Deletion — ask us to erase your data
Objection — object to certain processing
Restriction — ask us to limit processing
Withdraw consent — where we rely on it

To exercise any of these rights, contact us by email at sales@wigmoretrading.com with your request. We'll respond in line with applicable law. If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).

10 Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration and destruction. However, no method of transmitting or storing data over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — so while we work hard to protect your data, we also encourage you to take care when sharing information online.

11 Children

Our website and services are intended for businesses and adults, and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.

13 Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, services or the law. When we do, we'll revise the "last updated" date at the top of this page, and significant changes will be made clear. We encourage you to review this page periodically so you stay informed about how we handle your data.
