Job Description:
Travo is seeking an experienced and results-driven Logistics Country Manager to lead and manage our logistics operations in Ghana. This leadership role requires a seasoned professional with expertise in logistics, transportation, and supply chain management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, developing strategic partnerships, and driving growth while ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement a logistics strategy that aligns with Travo’s business goals and growth objectives in Ghana.
- Identify opportunities to expand and improve logistics services within Ghana and across West Africa.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry advancements to stay ahead in the market.
- Operational Management:
- Oversee day-to-day logistics operations, ensuring the timely and efficient movement of goods and services.
- Establish and manage relationships with transport providers, vendors, and other key partners to optimize logistics networks.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Build and lead a high-performing logistics team, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Financial and Performance Management:
- Manage budgets and control costs while maintaining quality and efficiency in operations.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare and present regular reports on logistics performance, financials, and strategic initiatives to senior management.
- Networking and Partnerships:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local and international logistics partners, vendors, and clients.
- Represent Travo at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to build the company’s brand and partnerships.
- Research and Compliance:
- Conduct research on clearing fees, duties, and taxes at ports and border crossings within Ghana and across Africa.
- Ensure that all logistics operations adhere to local and international laws and regulations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of the logistics landscape in Ghana and West Africa.
- Proven track record of managing complex logistics operations and achieving business growth.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in logistics software, supply chain tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to analyze data, solve problems, and make sound business decisions.
- Willingness to travel within Ghana and internationally as needed.
