Job Description

Wigmore Trading, a leading and fast-growing trading company headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria, is seeking an experienced Capital Raising Specialist to join our New York team. This role will focus on securing funding to support our ambitious growth plans, leveraging New York’s vibrant financial ecosystem. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled professional with a strong investor network, exceptional relationship management abilities, and a deep understanding of global capital markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investor Outreach: Identify, engage, and secure funding from institutional investors, private equity firms, venture capitalists, and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current and potential investors, providing regular updates and insights on Wigmore Trading’s performance and opportunities.
  • Pitch Creation: Develop and deliver compelling investment proposals and presentations tailored to investors’ interests and requirements.
  • Market Analysis: Research and analyze trends in capital markets, identifying opportunities to attract investment aligned with the company’s goals.
  • Due Diligence: Coordinate with internal teams to manage investor due diligence processes and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Strategic Alliances: Forge partnerships with financial institutions and stakeholders to expand funding opportunities.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and report on fundraising efforts, providing data-driven insights to the leadership team.

Requirements:

  • Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field. An MBA or similar advanced degree is highly desirable.
  • Professional Experience: At least 5 years of experience in capital raising, investment banking, private equity, or venture capital with a proven ability to close significant funding deals.
  • Financial Expertise: Strong understanding of capital markets, investment structures, and financial instruments.
  • Network: Established relationships with institutional investors, family offices, and financial stakeholders within New York’s financial ecosystem.
  • Communication Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to create persuasive presentations and investor materials.
  • Independent Work Ethic: Self-driven and capable of managing projects autonomously while achieving ambitious targets.
  • Knowledge of African Markets: Familiarity with investment opportunities and business environments in Africa is a significant advantage.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in financial tools, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
