Job Description:
Wigmore Trading is seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Country Manager to lead and oversee the sales team in Kenya. This pivotal role demands a visionary leader with a proven track record in sales management, market expansion, and strategic execution. The Country Manager will play a critical role in driving revenue growth, managing relationships with key stakeholders, and ensuring the overall success of our operations in Kenya.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets in Kenya.
- Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities for expansion and competitiveness.
- Establish and execute a clear vision for the sales team in alignment with company goals.
- Team Management:
- Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing sales team.
- Set performance goals and provide regular feedback and performance evaluations.
- Foster a collaborative and motivated team culture.
- Market Development:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with market sellers, distributors, and other key stakeholders.
- Drive product listing and market penetration efforts to maximize brand presence.
- Represent Wigmore Trading at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
- Operational Oversight:
- Oversee day-to-day sales operations and ensure efficient execution of business activities.
- Monitor and analyze sales metrics to make data-driven decisions.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and company policies.
- Customer Engagement:
- Cultivate relationships with top clients and provide exceptional customer service.
- Address escalated customer concerns and implement strategies to improve satisfaction.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in sales leadership, preferably in the logistics, distribution, or import/export industries.
- Proven ability to lead and grow high-performing sales teams.
- Strong understanding of the Kenyan market, including cultural, economic, and industry-specific dynamics.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach.
- Proficiency in sales software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel frequently within Kenya and internationally as needed.
