Job Description

Wigmore Trading, a fast-growing trading company headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria, is seeking a highly motivated Capital Raising Specialist to join our team in San Francisco. This pivotal role will focus on securing funding, building relationships with investors, and supporting the financial growth of our organization. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in raising capital, excellent networking abilities, and a deep understanding of financial markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fundraising: Lead efforts to raise capital from institutional investors, venture capital firms, private equity, and other funding sources.
  • Investor Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, providing regular updates on company performance and opportunities.
  • Market Analysis: Identify and evaluate funding opportunities and trends in global and regional markets relevant to Wigmore Trading’s operations.
  • Pitch Development: Create compelling investment proposals, presentations, and supporting materials tailored to diverse investor audiences.
  • Due Diligence: Collaborate with internal teams to ensure all investor queries and due diligence requirements are addressed promptly.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Develop and nurture partnerships with financial institutions and stakeholders to expand capital-raising avenues.
  • Reporting: Monitor and report on fundraising progress, providing strategic recommendations to the leadership team.

Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in capital raising, investment banking, private equity, or venture capital, with a strong network in the financial industry.
  • Financial Acumen: Deep understanding of capital markets, fundraising processes, and financial modeling.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to craft persuasive pitches and presentations.
  • Networking Ability: Proven ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with high-net-worth individuals and institutional investors.
  • Self-Starter: Highly motivated, proactive, and able to work independently to achieve ambitious fundraising goals.
  • Knowledge of African Markets: Familiarity with business operations and opportunities in Africa is highly desirable.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with financial tools, CRM platforms, and MS Office Suite, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
