Job Summary
The Real Estate Analyst will be responsible for providing in-depth market analysis, financial modeling, and strategic insights to support our investment and development initiatives in Johannesburg and beyond. This role requires a keen analytical mind, strong research skills, and a passion for understanding market dynamics to identify emerging opportunities and mitigate risks.
Key Responsibilities

Market Research & Analysis:
- Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, opportunities, and risks in the Johannesburg real estate sector.
- Monitor economic indicators, demographic trends, and regulatory changes that impact property markets.

Financial Modeling & Valuation:
- Develop detailed financial models, perform property valuations, and assess investment returns.
- Prepare sensitivity analyses, cash flow projections, and risk assessments to support decision-making.

Due Diligence & Reporting:
- Assist in the due diligence process for potential acquisitions, developments, or partnerships.
- Prepare and present detailed reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior management and investors.

Data Management & Technology:
- Utilize advanced Excel skills and real estate analysis software to manage and analyze large datasets.
- Leverage data visualization tools to communicate insights effectively.

Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including finance, legal, and operations to ensure comprehensive project evaluation.
- Liaise with external consultants, brokers, and market experts to gather insights and validate findings.
Qualifications

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- Candidates with degrees from top-tier South African institutions offering specialized real estate programs—such as the University of Cape Town, the University of the Witwatersrand, and Stellenbosch University—are highly preferred. A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, MRICS) is a plus.

Experience:
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in real estate analysis, investment banking, or financial consulting.
- Experience within the South African or broader African real estate market is highly desirable.

Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and real estate valuation techniques.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and familiarity with industry-specific software (e.g., Argus, CoStar).

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with an aptitude for translating complex data into actionable insights.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
