As part of our expansion strategy, Wigmore Trading is launching a renewable energy and power resilience platform focused on solar systems, battery storage, and microgrid solutions.
The goal is to help households, businesses, and communities achieve reliable electricity through distributed energy solutions, reducing dependence on diesel generators and unstable grid supply.
Role Summary
The Head of Renewable Energy & Power Resilience Solutions will lead the development and growth of Wigmore Trading’s solar energy and distributed power infrastructure business.
The role focuses on deploying solar home systems, enterprise backup power systems, and community microgrids that provide reliable electricity to homes, businesses, and institutions.
This position requires a professional with strong experience in renewable energy systems, power infrastructure, distributed energy solutions, or energy project development.
Key Responsibilities
Business & Strategy Development

Develop the strategy for Wigmore Trading’s renewable energy and distributed power solutions platform.

Identify opportunities for solar home systems, commercial solar installations, and community microgrid projects.

Develop scalable financing and service models including solar-as-a-service and lease-to-own energy systems.
Project Development & Deployment

Lead the deployment of solar PV systems, battery storage installations, and hybrid power systems.

Manage energy projects for households, SMEs, schools, hospitals, and commercial facilities.

Ensure reliable system design, installation quality, and long-term performance.
Energy Financing & Customer Solutions

Develop financing models including consumer financing, subscription energy services, and microgrid tariffs.

Structure projects with anchor clients such as telecom towers, clinics, and schools.

Design bundled energy packages including solar systems with appliances and energy management tools.
Partnerships & Market Expansion

Build partnerships with solar equipment suppliers, telecom infrastructure providers, and financing partners.

Work with development organisations and investors to expand access to renewable energy solutions.

Expand the platform’s reach across Nigeria’s residential and commercial energy markets.
Operations & Platform Management

Build and manage teams covering engineering, installation operations, and customer service.

Implement systems for monitoring energy performance, maintenance, and customer billing.

Ensure strong operational processes for project deployment and long-term maintenance.
Requirements
Education
-
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Energy Systems, or related field.
Experience
-
8+ years of experience in renewable energy, power systems, energy infrastructure, or solar project development.

Experience deploying solar PV systems, battery storage, or distributed energy solutions.

Experience working with energy infrastructure providers, EPC contractors, or energy financing platforms.
Skills

Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, battery storage, and hybrid energy systems.

Experience managing large infrastructure or energy deployment projects.

Strong leadership and project management capability.

Ability to build partnerships with suppliers, investors, and infrastructure partners.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with solar energy companies, distributed energy providers, or power infrastructure developers.

Familiarity with energy sector regulations and renewable energy project development.

Experience building scalable energy service platforms.
