As part of our expansion strategy, Wigmore Trading is launching an agricultural storage and post-harvest infrastructure platform focused on reducing crop losses and improving food supply chains.

The initiative will provide grain storage systems, solar-powered drying equipment, and agricultural warehousing solutions that help farmers and cooperatives preserve crops and increase market value.


Role Summary

The Head of Agricultural Storage & Post-Harvest Solutions will lead the development and growth of Wigmore Trading’s grain storage and post-harvest infrastructure platform.

The role focuses on deploying technologies that help farmers store crops safely, prevent pest damage, and extend shelf life, enabling improved income and food security.

This position requires a professional with strong experience in agricultural supply chains, grain storage infrastructure, post-harvest technologies, or agribusiness operations.


Key Responsibilities

Business & Strategy Development

  • Develop the strategy for Wigmore Trading’s agricultural storage and post-harvest infrastructure platform.

  • Identify opportunities to deploy grain silos, hermetic storage systems, and solar grain drying solutions.

  • Design scalable models for equipment sales, storage rentals, and agricultural warehouse services.

Storage Infrastructure Deployment

  • Lead the deployment of grain storage systems including steel silos, hermetic bags, and warehouse facilities.

  • Implement solar-powered grain drying solutions that reduce moisture and crop spoilage.

  • Establish storage hubs that support farmers, traders, and agricultural cooperatives.

Agricultural Partnerships

  • Build partnerships with farmer cooperatives, commodity traders, and agricultural development programs.

  • Work with financial institutions and microfinance providers to support equipment financing for farmers.

  • Collaborate with agricultural extension programs to promote adoption of improved storage technologies.

Supply Chain Integration

  • Develop storage infrastructure that integrates with agricultural logistics and commodity trading networks.

  • Implement systems for tracking stored crops, inventory levels, and storage quality.

  • Support stable agricultural supply chains by reducing seasonal price volatility.

Operations & Platform Management

  • Build and manage teams responsible for storage operations, equipment distribution, and maintenance.

  • Implement systems for monitoring storage conditions, pest control, and crop preservation.

  • Ensure reliable service delivery and operational efficiency across storage facilities.


Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, or related field.

Experience

  • 7–10 years of experience in agricultural supply chains, grain storage systems, post-harvest infrastructure, or agribusiness operations.

  • Experience working with farmer cooperatives, agricultural equipment providers, or commodity trading networks.

  • Experience managing agricultural infrastructure or storage deployment projects.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of grain storage systems and post-harvest technologies.

  • Experience managing agricultural supply chains and rural infrastructure projects.

  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management capability.

  • Ability to build partnerships with agricultural institutions and farming communities.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with agricultural storage infrastructure providers or agritech companies.

  • Familiarity with agricultural commodity markets and grain handling systems.

  • Experience launching scalable agricultural service platforms.
