International Logistics Agent (Global, Remote)

Job Overview:
Wigmore Trading is seeking a highly skilled and experienced International Logistics Agent to join our team in a fully remote, global capacity. In this executive-level role, you will collaborate with partners and third-party organizations worldwide to facilitate shipping and import/export operations across borders. Your primary focus will be to establish and nurture strategic partnerships globally, with a particular emphasis on Africa, to ensure efficient and cost-effective international shipping of a diverse range of products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with global and African freight forwarders, shipping lines, and logistics service providers.
  • Oversee and streamline import/export operations, ensuring full compliance with international shipping regulations, trade laws, and customs requirements.
  • Identify, negotiate, and manage contracts with third-party logistics providers to optimize shipping routes, costs, and delivery schedules.
  • Analyze global logistics trends and emerging opportunities to guide business strategy and expand the company’s market reach.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve international shipping challenges, working closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless operations.
  • Stay informed on industry developments, including regulatory changes, technology innovations, and best practices.
  • Optimize supply chain workflows and implement cost-effective solutions to improve operational efficiency.
  • Represent the company in virtual industry events, webinars, and global networking opportunities to build partnerships and promote business growth.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in logistics, shipping, or supply chain management, including 3+ years in an executive or leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of international shipping regulations, customs compliance, and African trade frameworks.
  • Proven track record in developing and managing global partnerships in logistics or related industries.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a focus on operational efficiency.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in logistics and supply chain management software and tools.
  • Ability to work across time zones and collaborate with a global team.
  • Flexibility to travel internationally if needed.
