Job Description:
Travo is seeking a detail-oriented and resourceful Logistics and Transport Coordinator to manage and optimize our transport and logistics operations in Nigeria and across West Africa. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, vendor management, and research. This role requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to build partnerships and streamline logistics processes while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of regional clearing fees, duties, and taxes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vendor and Partner Management:
- Create and maintain a comprehensive database of transport providers and vendors in Lagos.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard logistics partners in Nigeria, West Africa, and globally.
- Build strong relationships with logistics partners and vendors to ensure seamless operations.
- Logistics Coordination:
- Manage and book logistics inquiries for transport services across Nigeria and West Africa.
- Coordinate transport operations to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods and services.
- Event Attendance and Networking:
- Attend logistics and transportation industry events to build partnerships and expand the company’s network.
- Represent Travo at trade shows, conferences, and meetings with potential logistics partners.
- Research and Data Collection:
- Conduct thorough research to collate clearing fees, duties, and taxes for all entry and exit points, such as seaports and border crossings, across Africa.
- Maintain and regularly update a database of logistics-related costs for easy reference and decision-making.
- Process Optimization:
- Identify opportunities to streamline logistics processes and improve cost-efficiency.
- Work closely with the team to implement best practices and innovative solutions in logistics operations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in transport coordination, logistics, or vendor management.
- Strong knowledge of Nigeria and West Africa’s logistics landscape, including ports and border crossings.
- Excellent networking and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in data collection, research, and analysis.
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Willingness to travel locally and internationally for events and partner meetings.
