Job Description:
Travo is seeking a proactive and entrepreneurial Logistics Executive to lead our logistics and heavy machinery initiatives in Nigeria. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in building partnerships, expanding services, and ensuring the seamless integration of technology and operations. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and has a strong understanding of logistics, shipping, and vendor management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vendor and Partner Development:
- Identify and sign up vendor partners, including bus parks, machinery vendors, and other logistics providers in Nigeria.
- Build partnerships with existing barrel shipping companies to gain market insights and gradually establish Travo’s own barrel shipping service.
- Service Expansion and Marketing:
- Promote and market Travo’s logistics and heavy machinery services across Nigeria.
- Develop and implement strategies to expand the company’s presence and attract customers in the logistics and shipping sectors.
- Licensing and Compliance:
- Secure licenses, permits, and other requirements to operate logistics and shipping services in Nigeria.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards for all operations.
- Technology Integration:
- Establish API connections with shipping lines like Maersk and MSC to access real-time rates and services.
- Integrate with FedEx, UPS, and other shipping platforms to streamline logistics operations and provide customers with real-time updates.
- Service Optimization:
- Monitor and evaluate partnerships to identify opportunities for cost savings and improved service delivery.
- Gradually develop Travo’s proprietary barrel shipping business model by learning and leveraging insights from existing partners.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare regular reports on vendor performance, market trends, and logistics operations.
- Use data-driven insights to refine strategies and improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in logistics, shipping, or heavy machinery operations.
- Strong knowledge of the Nigerian logistics landscape, including vendor and market dynamics.
- Familiarity with API integrations and logistics technologies is a plus.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and entrepreneurial mindset.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel within Nigeria and internationally if required.
