Job Description:
Travo is seeking a proactive and results-oriented Logistics Executive to lead and expand our logistics and heavy machinery shipping operations in the UK. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in logistics, business development, and vendor management. The Logistics Executive will play a critical role in building vendor partnerships, promoting our services, and establishing a successful barrel shipping business to Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vendor and Partner Development:
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard vendor partners in the UK, with a focus on London and other key regions.
- Build strategic partnerships with existing barrel shipping companies to Nigeria and gradually establish Travo’s own barrel shipping service.
- Service Expansion and Marketing:
- Promote and market Travo’s logistics, shipping, and heavy machinery services across the UK.
- Develop marketing strategies and campaigns to increase visibility and attract clients within the logistics sector.
- Licensing and Compliance:
- Secure licenses, permits, and any regulatory requirements necessary to operate logistics and shipping services in the UK.
- Ensure compliance with UK and international shipping regulations, safety standards, and customs requirements.
- Barrel Shipping Business Development:
- Partner with existing barrel shipping companies to learn the business model and operations.
- Gradually build Travo’s proprietary barrel shipping service, leveraging insights from initial partnerships.
- Operations and Optimization:
- Oversee logistics operations and coordinate shipments to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with internal teams to streamline processes and improve service delivery.
- Networking and Representation:
- Attend logistics and shipping industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to build partnerships and grow the business.
- Represent Travo as a thought leader and trusted logistics partner in the UK market.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in logistics, shipping, or business development.
- Strong knowledge of the UK logistics landscape, vendor partnerships, and market trends.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to develop new business opportunities.
- Familiarity with licensing and compliance requirements for shipping and logistics in the UK.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally as needed.
