As we expand our technological capabilities, we are seeking a highly skilled FPV Drone Engineer to design, build, and maintain first-person view (FPV) drones for commercial applications.

Role Overview

The FPV Drone Engineer will be responsible for developing, assembling, and maintaining FPV drones for various commercial and operational applications, including aerial surveillance, logistics, and inspections. This role requires expertise in drone electronics, programming, and flight optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• FPV Drone Development & Assembly:

  • Design, build, and modify FPV drones for specific operational needs.
  • Select and integrate components such as flight controllers, ESCs, motors, batteries, and FPV camera systems.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize drone performance, weight balance, and aerodynamics.

• Flight Control & Software Programming:

  • Configure flight controllers using software such as Betaflight, iNav, ArduPilot, or PX4.
  • Implement custom programming to optimize drone stability and performance.
  • Conduct firmware updates and troubleshoot flight control issues.

• Testing & Optimization:

  • Perform test flights to ensure stability, range, and maneuverability.
  • Analyze flight data logs and adjust tuning parameters for optimal performance.
  • Ensure compliance with local aviation regulations and safety guidelines.

• Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

  • Conduct regular maintenance checks and repairs on drones.
  • Diagnose and fix electronic, mechanical, or signal transmission issues.
  • Work with teams to integrate drones into operational workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Robotics, Electronics, or a related field from a top Nigerian university, preferably:
  • University of Lagos (UNILAG)
  • Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU)
  • University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN)
  • Ahmadu Bello University (ABU)
  • Covenant University (CU)
  • Babcock University
  • Lagos Business School (LBS) (for advanced candidates)
• Minimum of 3–5 years experience in FPV drone development, electronics, or UAV technology.
• Proficiency in drone flight controllers and firmware (Betaflight, iNav, ArduPilot, or PX4).
• Experience with radio transmitters, receivers, and FPV video transmission systems.
• Strong programming skills in Python, C++, or Arduino (preferred).
• Knowledge of LiPo battery safety, ESC calibration, and PID tuning.
• Hands-on experience with 3D printing, carbon fiber frame design, or lightweight materials is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
