About the Role

African Land is hiring responsible and detail-oriented Janitorial and Cleaning Officers to maintain cleanliness and hygiene across our managed residential and commercial properties in Accra. This role plays a vital part in ensuring safe, sanitary, and presentable environments for tenants, visitors, and staff.

The ideal candidate should be experienced in professional cleaning techniques, self-motivated, and able to follow strict cleaning schedules. This is a hands-on role requiring physical stamina and a strong sense of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning tasks in lobbies, corridors, offices, restrooms, staircases, and other common areas.

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors as required.

• Clean and disinfect restrooms and replenish supplies regularly.

• Empty waste bins and dispose of refuse properly and in line with building protocols.

• Monitor cleaning materials and request restocking when needed.

• Notify the supervisor of any maintenance issues or safety hazards identified during routine duties.

• Follow hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards at all times.

• Assist with deep cleaning during tenant transitions, renovations, or special events.

• Support pest control, waste segregation, and other environmental health tasks as directed.

Qualifications

• Basic literacy and numeracy skills.

• Certification or training in professional cleaning, occupational health, or sanitation is an asset.

Experience

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in commercial or residential cleaning roles.

• Experience working in office buildings, estates, hotels, or facilities management settings is preferred.

• Familiarity with modern cleaning equipment and supplies.

Skills & Competencies

• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

• Good physical condition and ability to handle repetitive tasks.

• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling procedures.

• Attention to detail and commitment to high standards of cleanliness.

• Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, or shifts as required.
