Job Overview:

Wigmore Trading is seeking a highly analytical and commercially driven Corporate Development Manager to lead our mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activities and strategic growth initiatives. This is a key in-house role focused on identifying, evaluating, and executing investment opportunities, partnerships, and acquisitions across our core markets.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership to drive expansion, improve market positioning, and unlock new revenue streams.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate potential acquisition targets, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships
  • Lead end-to-end M&A processes, including sourcing, due diligence, negotiation, and execution
  • Build detailed financial models, valuations, and investment cases
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to support strategic decision-making
  • Structure deals and negotiate commercial terms with partners and stakeholders
  • Manage relationships with external advisors (legal, financial, consultants)
  • Support post-merger integration and ensure successful execution of strategic objectives
  • Prepare investment memos and presentations for senior management and stakeholders
  • Monitor portfolio performance and identify further growth opportunities

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in M&A, corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or consulting
  • Strong financial modelling, valuation, and analytical skills
  • Solid understanding of deal structuring, due diligence, and transaction processes
  • Experience working on transactions from origination to completion
  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field (MBA or CFA is an advantage)
  • Minimum of 4–8 years of relevant experience
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • High level of commercial awareness and strategic thinking

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in trading, commodities, logistics, or emerging markets
  • Familiarity with African markets and cross-border transactions
  • Experience working in a fast-growing or entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong network within investment, finance, or corporate sectors
