Job Description:
Travo is seeking a proactive and results-driven Logistics Executive to lead and grow our logistics and heavy machinery shipping operations in the USA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, business development, and vendor management. This role requires building strategic partnerships, promoting our services across the country, and establishing a successful barrel shipping business to Nigeria by leveraging existing industry relationships and expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vendor and Partner Development:
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard vendor partners across key regions in the USA.
- Build strategic partnerships with existing barrel shipping companies to Nigeria and gradually establish Travo’s own barrel shipping service.
- Service Expansion and Marketing:
- Promote and market Travo’s logistics, shipping, and heavy machinery services throughout the USA.
- Develop and execute marketing strategies to increase brand visibility and attract clients within the logistics and shipping sectors.
- Licensing and Compliance:
- Secure licenses, permits, and any other regulatory requirements necessary to operate logistics and shipping services in the USA.
- Ensure compliance with US and international shipping regulations, safety standards, and customs requirements.
- Barrel Shipping Business Development:
- Partner with existing barrel shipping companies to gain insights into operations and industry best practices.
- Gradually develop Travo’s proprietary barrel shipping service, leveraging knowledge gained through partnerships.
- Operations and Optimization:
- Oversee logistics operations and coordinate shipments to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Work with internal teams to streamline processes, improve customer service, and enhance operational excellence.
- Networking and Representation:
- Attend logistics and shipping industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to build partnerships and expand the business.
- Represent Travo as a trusted and innovative logistics partner in the US market.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in logistics, shipping, or business development in the US market.
- Strong understanding of the US logistics landscape, vendor partnerships, and market dynamics.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities.
- Familiarity with licensing and compliance requirements for logistics and shipping in the USA.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to solve problems and optimize operations.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
