Role Overview
African Land is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Property Leasing Officer to join its Lusaka operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing leasing activities, tenant relations, and occupancy performance across residential and commercial properties.
This role is ideal for a professional with strong communication skills, negotiation expertise, and a thorough understanding of Zambia’s real estate leasing landscape.
Key Responsibilities

Manage the leasing process for residential, retail, and commercial properties in Lusaka.

Build and maintain strong relationships with landlords, tenants, and corporate clients.

Prepare and review lease agreements, renewals, and addenda in compliance with local laws.

Conduct property inspections and ensure units are market-ready.

Maintain accurate records of lease transactions and tenancy schedules.

Collaborate with the marketing team to advertise vacancies and attract new tenants.

Track occupancy levels, rental income, and lease expirations.

Prepare leasing reports and performance summaries for management.

Ensure compliance with Zambian tenancy laws and property regulations.
Qualifications & Education

Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.

Certification in Property or Facilities Management (e.g., ZIEA, RICS) is advantageous.

University of Zambia – Business, Economics, or Real Estate Studies

Copperbelt University – Land Economy or Estate Management

Cavendish University Zambia – Business or Marketing

Mulungushi University – Business or Commerce

Comparable African universities such as the University of Nairobi, University of Lagos, or University of Cape Town indicate the desired academic level.

Skills & Experience

3–5 years of experience in property leasing, management, or brokerage.

Strong negotiation, communication, and documentation skills.

Proven track record in tenant management and occupancy retention.

In-depth knowledge of Zambia’s property market and leasing regulations.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and property management software.

Fluency in English; additional local language proficiency is a plus.

Organized, analytical, and capable of managing multiple leases simultaneously.
