About the Role
African Land is seeking a reliable and skilled Swimming Pool Maintenance Technician to manage the cleaning, chemical treatment, mechanical systems, and safety standards of pools across our residential and commercial properties in Accra. This role ensures that swimming pools are consistently clean, well-balanced, and operational for residents and guests.
The ideal candidate will be technically competent in water treatment and pump systems, detail-oriented, and committed to high health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct routine cleaning of pool water, surfaces, and surrounding deck areas.

Test and adjust water chemistry including chlorine, pH, alkalinity, and calcium hardness levels.

Maintain pool equipment such as pumps, filters, heaters, chlorinators, and valves.

Identify and troubleshoot mechanical or plumbing issues with pool systems.

Clean and backwash filters, monitor water levels, and remove debris or algae buildup.

Ensure compliance with Ghanaian health and safety regulations for public and private swimming pools.

Monitor inventory and request replenishment of pool chemicals and supplies.

Maintain daily logs of pool conditions, chemical treatments, and maintenance activities.

Work with vendors or contractors on major pool repairs or upgrades when necessary.
Qualifications

Technical diploma or certification in Plumbing, Mechanical Maintenance, or Pool Operations.

Specialized training in water chemistry or certified pool operator (CPO) credentials is an advantage.
Experience
-
Minimum 2–4 years of experience maintaining pools in hotels, estates, clubs, or serviced properties.

Familiarity with commercial-grade pool systems and multi-pool facilities is preferred.

Knowledge of chemical safety, emergency protocols, and environmental compliance.
Skills & Competencies

Strong understanding of pool hydraulics and filtration systems.

Ability to detect equipment issues and perform basic repairs independently.

Attention to detail and a commitment to hygiene and guest safety.

Physically fit and able to handle heavy lifting and outdoor tasks.

Responsible, punctual, and capable of working with minimal supervision.
