About the Role
African Land is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accounts Officer to manage day-to-day financial transactions, reporting, and reconciliation activities across our property portfolio in Accra. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial integrity of our operations, supporting both internal accounting processes and client financial management.
You will work closely with the finance manager and cross-functional teams to maintain accurate ledgers, manage billing cycles, and prepare periodic reports that guide strategic decision-making in our dynamic real estate environment.
Key Responsibilities

Process accounts payable and receivable, including rent collections and vendor payments.

Maintain and reconcile general ledger entries across all company accounts.

Generate monthly financial statements, cash flow reports, and other management reports.

Support the preparation and review of budgets and financial forecasts.

Monitor account balances and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

Assist with tenant billing, invoice issuance, and follow-up on outstanding payments.

Liaise with external auditors and support audit processes with accurate documentation.

Ensure compliance with Ghana Revenue Authority regulations, including VAT, PAYE, and withholding tax submissions.

Maintain digital and physical records of all financial transactions in accordance with data retention policies.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

ICAG, ACCA, or similar professional qualification (in progress or completed) is preferred.
Experience
-
Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in accounting, preferably in the real estate or property services sector.

Hands-on experience using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or Zoho Books).

Familiarity with real estate billing, service charge accounting, or lease-based revenue models is an asset.
Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills for internal and client-facing tasks.

Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion.
