Role Overview
Wigmore Trading is seeking a motivated and results-driven Commission-Only Sales Associate to represent the company in Cape Town and across the Western Cape region. The successful candidate will focus on identifying business opportunities, developing client relationships, and closing high-value trade deals in FMCG, industrial, and commodity sectors.
This opportunity is ideal for a self-motivated, entrepreneurial individual passionate about international trade, distribution, and cross-border business development.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, distributors, and wholesalers in Cape Town and surrounding regions.

Promote Wigmore Trading’s diverse range of FMCG, industrial, and commodity products.

Identify and pursue new business opportunities in South Africa’s trade and retail sectors.

Negotiate pricing, contracts, and payment terms in collaboration with Wigmore’s head office.

Conduct regular market research to assess competition, trends, and opportunities.

Manage client communications, prepare quotations, and oversee deal closures.
-
Collaborate with the logistics team to ensure timely deliveries and service quality.

Represent Wigmore Trading at trade shows, exhibitions, and business networking events.
Qualifications & Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or International Trade preferred.

3–5 years of proven sales or business development experience.

Prior exposure to FMCG, import/export, or B2B trading environments.

Strong network within South Africa’s wholesale, retail, or manufacturing industries is an advantage.
Skills & Experience

Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

Ability to meet and exceed sales targets in a performance-driven environment.

Fluency in English; proficiency in Afrikaans or another regional language is an asset.

Strong understanding of South Africa’s business, logistics, and supply chain processes.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
