As part of our expansion strategy, Wigmore Trading is launching a telecom API marketplace and developer platform that enables developers and businesses to easily integrate telecommunications capabilities into their applications.
The platform will provide a centralized catalog of telecom APIs, allowing startups, software companies, and enterprises to access services such as messaging, voice, identity verification, location data, and billing through a single integration.
Role Summary
The Head of Telecom API & Developer Platforms will lead the development and growth of Wigmore Trading’s telecommunications API marketplace.
The role focuses on building developer-friendly platforms that connect telecom services with the growing ecosystem of software developers, startups, and digital businesses.
This position requires a professional with strong experience in telecommunications platforms, developer ecosystems, API infrastructure, or cloud communication services.
Key Responsibilities
Platform & Product Development

Lead the development of Wigmore Trading’s telecom API marketplace and developer platform.

Design a centralized API catalog offering services such as SMS messaging, voice services, identity verification, billing APIs, and location services.

Build developer tools including API documentation, SDKs, developer dashboards, and sandbox environments.
Telecommunications Integration

Build partnerships with mobile network operators and telecom infrastructure providers.

Integrate telecom capabilities into the platform through secure APIs and gateway infrastructure.

Ensure reliable service delivery and high system availability.
Developer Ecosystem Growth

Build and support a strong developer community around the platform.

Launch programs such as developer hackathons, incubator partnerships, and startup integrations.

Provide onboarding support and technical documentation for developers and partners.
Business Development

Develop commercial models including usage-based API billing, subscription plans, and enterprise licensing.

Expand adoption among startups, ISVs, fintech companies, and software platforms.

Develop strategic partnerships with technology incubators, universities, and developer communities.
Platform Operations

Build internal teams covering engineering, developer relations, product management, and customer support.

Monitor platform performance, reliability, and API usage metrics.

Ensure strong operational processes for developer onboarding and service support.
Requirements
Education
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
Experience
-
7+ years of experience in telecommunications platforms, API development, developer ecosystems, or cloud communication services.

Experience building or managing API platforms, developer portals, or telecom infrastructure products.

Experience working with telecom operators, software platforms, or developer communities.
Skills

Strong understanding of API architecture and developer platform design.

Experience managing telecommunications or messaging platforms.

Strong product development and technical leadership capability.

Ability to build partnerships with telecom operators and developer communities.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with CPaaS platforms, telecom APIs, or developer marketplaces.
