Retailers and distributors buying baby cream need authentic products, appropriate documentation and dependable stock handling. Wigmore Trading welcomes wholesale personal-care enquiries for Nigerian retail and distribution businesses. Send the brand, product variant, quantity and delivery destination so the team can assess supply.
This is a business purchasing guide, not medical advice or a recommendation to change a child’s skin colour. Baby skincare marketing should focus on the product’s supported purpose and approved labelling, with health concerns directed to an appropriate clinician.
Identify the exact product
Specify brand, full variant name, pack size, case quantity and intended sales channel. Products with similar names may have different formulations or labelling for different markets. Ask for clear product information rather than accepting an ambiguous description such as “baby cream assorted”.
Agree whether substitutions are permitted. A supplier should not replace a requested variant without your approval, particularly where your customers expect a particular formulation or pack.
Check regulatory status and authenticity
NAFDAC’s imported cosmetics guidance sets out registration requirements for regulated cosmetic products. Confirm the status applicable to the actual item before importing or distributing it. A brand’s international reputation is not a substitute for Nigerian product compliance.
Check the seller, invoice, batch information, manufacturer or authorised supply route and packaging. Review any claimed brand appointment through the brand’s own channel. Buying wholesale from Wigmore does not itself confer an exclusive distributorship or manufacturer authorisation.
What documentation should a distributor keep?
- Supplier identity and commercial invoices.
- Exact product and pack description.
- Batch and date information for traceability.
- Applicable regulatory and import documents.
- Agreed storage and handling requirements.
- Returns, damage and complaint procedures.
Keep records that allow a particular batch to be traced to the retailers supplied. If a complaint or recall arises, quantities and destinations should be retrievable without relying on memory.
Storage and remaining shelf life
Follow manufacturer instructions and confirm the minimum remaining shelf life at delivery. Protect packs from unsuitable heat, contamination and damage. Apply stock rotation appropriate to expiry dates and keep rejected or suspect goods separate from saleable inventory.
Ask the supplier about damaged seals, short-dated stock and returns before placing the order. A discount may be poor value when the available selling period is too short for your route.
Choose a manageable opening range
Speak to pharmacies, baby shops, supermarkets or other target retailers about demand and pack preferences. Start with a range you can replenish and track. Avoid ordering many slow variants solely to secure a nominal wholesale discount.
Calculate product cost, delivery, storage, sales effort, expected returns and customer credit. Set payment terms that leave enough cash for replenishment. Volume without cash collection can weaken the business.
Launching a foreign baby-care brand
If you represent a manufacturer, prepare the product dossier, market history, proposed range and Nigerian compliance plan. Distribution, registration support, importing and marketing are separate workstreams; identify who is responsible for each.
Use Wigmore’s distributor appointment enquiry to discuss the scope. Do not assume that an enquiry establishes brand representation, regulatory approval or shelf placement.
Request baby cream wholesale supply
Send the product list, case quantities, city and required delivery date. If you want to build a distribution business, also describe your target retailers, opening budget and expected repeat orders. Availability, minimums, payment and delivery are confirmed in the particular offer.
Can I advertise medical or skin-lightening benefits?
Use only lawful, supported claims consistent with the actual product and approved labelling. Do not invent benefits to improve sales copy.
Can I request mixed wholesale products?
Ask about the available range and case minimums. The team will confirm whether a mixed order is practical for the proposed supply and delivery route.
