Kobelco Excavators & Cranes in Nigeria

Kobelco machinery · Nigeria

Japanese excavators, Nigerian ground.

Kobelco has built excavators — and only excavators, cranes and their kin — since 1930: hand-built in Japan, famous for fuel-sipping hydraulics and quiet power. Wigmore Trading brings them to Nigerian sites with the thing machinery actually lives or dies on here: a supply line for parts, service and delivery that already runs through our own ports and trucks.

Why this marque

The specialist, not the supermarket.

Since 1930

Excavator innovators for nearly a century — Kobelco doesn’t make everything; it makes digging machines, hand-built in Japan, and has for over 90 years.

Fuel first

Advanced hydraulics engineered around fuel efficiency — on Nigerian diesel prices, the machine that sips instead of gulps pays for its own keep.

iNDr quiet

Low-noise operation by design — Kobelco’s iNDr cooling system means machines that can work urban sites, night shifts and estate projects without a noise war.

After the handshake

A machine is a promise. Parts keep it.

Every contractor in Nigeria knows the graveyard: good machines parked dead for months waiting for a part that’s “on the way.” That’s the problem we’re actually built to solve — Wigmore runs its own import, customs clearing and haulage desks, so the parts pipeline behind your Kobelco is the same freight machine that moves our cargo every week.

Machinery from a logistics company means the boring things are handled: delivery to site anywhere in Nigeria, genuine parts on a schedule, and service support arranged around your working hours — plus Kobelco’s KOMEXS telematics so the machine reports its own health before it becomes a breakdown.

What comes with the machine

Delivery to your site — port to project, on our own logistics
Genuine parts supply line — ordered, cleared and moved by our desks
Service & maintenance support — scheduled around your site hours
KOMEXS telematics — the machine reports fuel, hours and health remotely
Warranty per Kobelco’s terms — stated in writing with your quote
Operator familiarisation — your operators handed the machine properly

Straight answers

Before the first bucket bites.

How much does a Kobelco excavator cost?
Machinery is quoted per unit, in writing — price depends on model, specification, new versus used, current exchange rates and freight. Anyone quoting excavator prices off a webpage is guessing with your money; our written quote itemises the machine, delivery, and duties so you see the full landed cost. Speaking of which, our free landed cost calculator shows exactly how machinery import costs stack.
New or used — which should I buy?
Honest answer: it depends on your utilisation. A machine working daily on contracts earns the reliability and warranty of new; a machine for occasional projects may justify quality used with a verified service history. We supply both and will tell you which your numbers support — the enquiry form asks precisely so we can advise rather than upsell.
What about parts and service in Nigeria?
This is the question that should decide any machinery purchase in Nigeria, and it’s why buying from a logistics company matters: parts are ordered, flown or shipped, customs-cleared and delivered by the same Wigmore desks that move freight weekly. Kobelco’s KOMEXS telematics also lets the machine report its own condition, so maintenance gets scheduled before failure, not after.
How long does delivery take?
It depends on whether your machine is in-country, in a regional yard, or built to order — anywhere from days to months, and the written quote states the honest timeline for the specific unit. What we control tightly is the Nigerian leg: clearing and haulage to site run on our own operations, which is where most machinery deliveries usually lose their weeks.
Do you offer financing or leasing?
Payment structures are discussed deal by deal at quote stage — options depend on the machine, your company profile and current arrangements with partners. We won’t advertise terms on a webpage that a credit committee decides; tell us what structure you need in the enquiry and we’ll tell you what’s realistic.
Can I see a machine before buying?
Wherever possible, yes — inspection arrangements depend on where the specific unit sits. For used machines especially, we encourage inspection or an independent condition report before commitment; a machinery purchase you can’t verify is a machinery purchase you should walk away from, whoever is selling.
