Finding malaria-prevention partners in Nigeria starts with defining what your project needs: programme approval, product procurement, funding, research, distribution or community engagement. A list of organisation names is not a partnership strategy. The right contact depends on the role and the current programme.
Wigmore Trading welcomes enquiries about product sourcing, procurement readiness and logistics for defined public-health projects. This page does not promise grants, donor access, government contracts or an affiliation with any named organisation.
Use official routes for each purpose
| Route | What it helps establish |
|---|---|
| National Malaria Elimination Programme | National programme context and official information |
| Global Fund funding data | Published funding-process information to investigate |
| UNICEF supplier resources | Supplier requirements and procurement routes |
| UNGM guidance | How potential suppliers engage with UN procurement |
Verify the current programme owner, official website and published opportunity before submitting material. A historic project or an organisation’s interest in health does not prove it has an open grant or purchasing requirement.
Distinguish funders, implementers and suppliers
A donor may finance an implementing organisation that runs a procurement process; a government team may set programme requirements; a supplier may deliver goods under contract. These are different roles. Contacting a donor is not necessarily the way to sell nets to a funded programme.
For state or local projects in Lagos, Abuja and elsewhere, confirm the responsible public-health authority and official procurement channel. Do not rely on personal contact lists or an intermediary’s claim that a budget has been approved.
Prepare a partnership brief
Describe the problem, intended population, location, proposed activities, technical leadership, budget and delivery capability. State what contribution you are requesting and what your organisation will provide. Include a realistic monitoring approach and the approvals still required.
Keep funding requests distinct from product sales. A hospital buying nets, a foundation funding outreach and a university conducting research need different proposals. Avoid sending one generic presentation to every organisation in the sector.
CSR, community and research partnerships
Telecoms, energy companies, employers, faith organisations and diaspora groups may consider health-related community programmes, but each has its own priorities and approval process. Approach them with a defined proposal rather than describing them as confirmed funders.
Research institutes and universities need appropriate study governance and ethical review where applicable. Community leaders, schools and local organisations can support engagement, but they should not be used to bypass public-health oversight or participant privacy.
Evaluate funding and contract claims
Verify named programmes through official sources, check eligibility and deadlines, and establish who may sign. Do not pay an unofficial fee for a guaranteed donor award. A letter of support is different from a funding agreement or purchase order.
Grants, commercial investment, public procurement and philanthropic donations have different obligations. A malaria programme should not be marketed as guaranteed investment income or a promise to eradicate disease.
Can Wigmore introduce us to every donor?
No such access is promised. The team can discuss a concrete supply or logistics requirement and confirm whether a defined support scope is appropriate.
What should a first enquiry include?
Share the country and locations, programme stage, authorised project owner, product or logistics requirement and procurement timetable. Use non-confidential information initially; do not send patient records or beneficiary identity lists.
Prepare a useful enquiry
Note the project location, intended role, current stage, product or service specification, quantities, delivery point and timetable. Separate confirmed facts from assumptions and identify documents that still need verification. Start with a non-confidential brief; do not submit credentials, personal medical records or restricted project files through a general sales enquiry.
This checklist is for your own preparation and does not submit information.
