Buying plastics, resins and rubber materials from the United States starts with a clear specification and an identified receiving market. Wigmore Trading can assess a sourcing or logistics brief and clarify what is needed for a written offer. A guide or product list is not confirmation of stock, supplier appointment or approval to trade a particular item.
Define the requirement before requesting prices
Name the resin or elastomer, grade, form and application. For moulding materials, specify the properties that control processing and performance. Polyethylene, polypropylene, PVC, styrene polymers, polyacetals, polyamides, acrylics and silicone each contain many grades; a generic polymer name does not establish equivalence.
Use trials to qualify a substitute grade
Request a technical data sheet, batch certificate and representative sample. Define the relevant flow, mechanical, thermal, colour and additive requirements with your technical team. Identify virgin, recycled, filled or compounded material explicitly. If a food-contact or other controlled application is involved, request evidence for the exact material and intended conditions of use.
Products to distinguish in your enquiry
The following are separate specification lines. Identify the exact product, grade or model and intended use rather than requesting an undifferentiated mixed shipment.
- Ethylene Polymers
- Other Plastic Products
- Polyacetals
- Plastic Lids
- Raw Plastic Sheeting
- Propylene Polymers
- Vinyl Chloride Polymers
- Plastic Pipes
- Self-adhesive Plastics
- Other Plastic Sheetings
- Polyamides
- Other Rubber Products
- Synthetic Rubber
- Acrylic Polymers
- Amino-resins
- Styrene Polymers
- Silicone
- Petroleum Resins
- Rubber Pipes
- Compounded Unvulcanised Rubber
- Other Vinyl Polymers
- Plastic Building Materials
Specify finished formats separately
Sheets need thickness tolerances, width, surface and roll or sheet dimensions. Self-adhesive products need backing, adhesive and release-liner details. Pipes and rubber hoses need dimensions, pressure and compatibility requirements. Confirm moisture protection, storage, pallet weights and batch traceability. A lower material price may not save money if production trials reveal excessive scrap or altered cycle times.
Compare the full commercial scope
Ask each supplier to quote the same specification, quantity, condition, packing basis and named delivery point. List the currency, quote validity, inspection scope, payment milestones and treatment of non-conforming goods. Request actual packed dimensions and gross weights before comparing freight options.
Keep product price separate from collection, export preparation, freight, insurance, destination charges, duties, storage and final delivery. Identify the party responsible for each stage. Do not pay for a shipment whose destination acceptance or essential technical specification is still unresolved.
Prepare a sourcing brief
Send the specification or catalogue reference, quantity and expected repeat demand, receiving location, required date and any supporting drawings or quality requirements. Say whether the enquiry is for an approved replacement, a new production input or resale. Ask for the manufacturer and origin to be identified; a source-country dispatch address alone does not establish origin.
Use the US sourcing directory to compare related product guides, or the US commercial shipping guide when preparing cargo details.
Discuss your requirement with Wigmore Trading
Send the product or cargo specification, quantity, destination and required date. Tell us whether you need supplier search, procurement coordination, inspection coordination, consolidation or freight. Availability, scope, responsibilities and prices are confirmed for the actual enquiry.
