Waterproofing chemicals should solve a defined water-entry problem within a suitable system. Concrete additives should meet an approved mix or performance specification. Wigmore Trading can assess product sourcing enquiries for Nigerian construction projects once the designer or technical specialist has established the requirement.

Find the cause before choosing the product

A leaking roof, wet-area floor, below-ground wall and water-retaining structure are different applications. Provide the substrate, exposure, existing condition and relevant drawings. A product cannot compensate for every defect in drainage, joints or structural design.

Ask a qualified specialist to identify preparation, repairs, detailing and the complete system. Do not select from a “best waterproofing chemical” list without considering the actual job.

Integral additive or surface system?

These are different procurement categories. Sika’s Nigerian product data describes an integral waterproofing admixture for mortar and concrete; a surface membrane or coating has a different application basis. The project designer must determine what is appropriate.

Confirm whether the specification needs one product or coordinated components. Detailing and compatible accessories may matter as much as the principal coating or additive.

Concrete admixtures and ready-mix enquiries

Provide the concrete requirements, materials, production method and approved performance criteria. Qualified concrete specialists should determine admixture compatibility and validate the mix. No universal additive dose is established by this guide.

For an existing ready-mix process, explain the current product, constraints and trial requirements. A supplier change should follow technical approval and recorded testing.

Curing compounds, bonding and screed products

Identify the intended finish and follow-on work. Ask whether a proposed curing product affects subsequent coatings or bonding. Specify the actual application and have the technical team review compatibility.

For adhesives, grouts and putty, use the construction chemical purchasing guide. A shared cementitious appearance does not make products equivalent.

Roof waterproofing

Give the roof type, existing finish, exposure and condition. Ask the designer to assess movement, drainage, junctions and necessary repairs. The applicator should follow the selected system’s instructions and conditions.

Agree the scope and exclusions of any installation warranty. Product supply alone does not create a complete workmanship guarantee or promise that a leak will never recur.

Compare offers on installed scope

Request the product, quantity basis, technical data, shelf life, delivery schedule and exclusions. Ask whether primers, accessories, preparation and technical support are included. Coverage assumptions should come from the approved system and site conditions.

For phased projects, plan delivery and storage so materials remain within the specified conditions and life. Avoid buying more than the site can protect or use.

Request product sourcing

Send Wigmore Trading the project location, technical specification, application, quantity and required date. If the specification is unresolved, arrange qualified assessment first. We can assess procurement and logistics after the requirement is defined.

Can a waterproof cement additive replace every membrane?

No automatic substitution should be made. The designer must approve the complete approach for the particular structure and exposure.
