Job Description:
Centropay, a leading provider of financial and payment solutions, is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Penetration Tester to join our team in Lagos, Nigeria. This role involves conducting in-depth security assessments of our systems, networks, and applications to identify vulnerabilities and strengthen our defenses against cyber threats. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cybersecurity, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of modern attack vectors and mitigation strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Security Testing and Analysis:
- Conduct penetration testing of networks, web applications, mobile applications, and APIs to identify security vulnerabilities.
- Simulate real-world attacks to evaluate the effectiveness of security controls and identify potential weaknesses.
- Perform advanced exploit development and vulnerability assessments across Centropay’s infrastructure.
- Vulnerability Management:
- Analyze and document vulnerabilities, their impact, and potential exploitation scenarios.
- Provide detailed recommendations for remediation to development, IT, and security teams.
- Monitor and follow up on the implementation of fixes and patches to ensure vulnerabilities are addressed effectively.
- Threat Intelligence and Research:
- Stay updated on the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and attack methodologies.
- Research and develop innovative techniques to test the security of emerging technologies and systems.
- Provide insights into potential risks related to new software, tools, and systems used by the company.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations on findings, methodologies, and recommendations.
- Communicate findings effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including management.
- Maintain accurate records of penetration testing activities and results for auditing and compliance purposes.
- Collaboration and Training:
- Collaborate with development, IT, and security teams to design and implement robust security measures.
- Conduct training sessions for employees on cybersecurity best practices and threat awareness.
- Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure penetration testing and security assessments comply with industry standards such as OWASP, ISO 27001, and PCI DSS.
- Support compliance efforts by providing evidence of security testing and assessments.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (relevant certifications or equivalent experience considered).
- Proven experience as a Penetration Tester, Ethical Hacker, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of penetration testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Metasploit, Burp Suite, Kali Linux, Nessus).
- Familiarity with secure coding practices and vulnerability assessment frameworks (e.g., OWASP Top 10).
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Bash.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, cloud security, and operating systems (Windows, Linux).
- Certifications such as CEH, OSCP, GPEN, or similar are highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
