Role Overview

Wigmore Trading is seeking a motivated and entrepreneurial Commission-Only Sales Associate to represent the company in Ibadan and the wider Oyo State region. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new clients, building relationships, and driving sales growth in FMCG, industrial, and commodity sectors.

This position is ideal for a performance-driven sales professional with strong communication skills, a deep understanding of Nigeria’s business landscape, and a passion for commerce and trade.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and engage new distributors, wholesalers, and retailers within Ibadan and surrounding areas.

  • Promote Wigmore Trading’s range of FMCG, industrial, and commodity products.

  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms in coordination with the Lagos head office.

  • Conduct market research to identify growth opportunities and emerging trends.

  • Manage client communications, quotations, and follow-up activities.

  • Work with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and client satisfaction.

  • Represent Wigmore Trading at trade fairs, exhibitions, and networking events.

  • Submit regular reports on sales performance, leads, and market conditions.


Qualifications & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or International Trade preferred.

  • 3–5 years of experience in sales, business development, or trading.

  • Prior experience in FMCG, import/export, or distribution is highly desirable.

  • Strong business network within Ibadan’s retail and wholesale markets is an advantage.


Skills & Experience

  • Excellent sales, negotiation, and client management skills.

  • Fluency in English and Yoruba required.

  • Deep understanding of Nigeria’s trade and logistics landscape.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.

  • Proven ability to achieve or exceed sales targets in a commission-based environment.

  • Self-disciplined, organized, and capable of managing multiple client relationships.
