Wigmore Trading is a fast-growing trading and distribution company based in Lagos, Nigeria. The company supplies equipment, commodities, and services to businesses across Africa.

As part of our expansion, Wigmore Trading is launching a Power Resilience division focused on solar and inverter leasing solutions for households, SMEs, and commercial customers. Our goal is to provide reliable and affordable alternatives to generator-based power systems.

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead and scale this new business line.


Role Summary

The Solar & Power Solutions Manager will lead the development and growth of Wigmore Trading’s solar and inverter leasing business in Nigeria.

The role focuses on building partnerships, driving customer acquisition, managing installations, and developing recurring revenue streams through energy service contracts.

This position requires a commercially focused professional with experience in solar energy, power systems, or electrical equipment distribution.


Key Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Develop and implement the strategy for Wigmore Trading’s solar and inverter leasing business.

  • Identify and secure partnerships with solar equipment suppliers, battery manufacturers, and installation partners.

  • Design scalable models including lease-to-own solar systems, energy subscriptions, and service agreements.

Sales and Customer Acquisition

  • Build a pipeline of residential, SME, and commercial solar customers.

  • Establish partnerships with estate managers, landlords, schools, clinics, and business associations.

  • Implement cluster sales strategies targeting estates, markets, and SME business corridors.

Operations and Installation

  • Manage solar and inverter installations through internal teams or approved contractors.

  • Ensure installation quality, system performance, and after-sales service.

  • Develop maintenance and service packages to support recurring revenue.

Financial and Commercial Management

  • Develop pricing strategies for solar and inverter solutions.

  • Manage equipment procurement and inventory planning.

  • Monitor unit economics including equipment costs, installation expenses, and service revenue.

Team Leadership

  • Build and manage teams across sales, installation, and customer service.

  • Develop agent networks to support sales and payment collections.

  • Establish operational processes that ensure customer satisfaction and service reliability.


Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience

  • 5–8 years of experience in solar energy, power systems, electrical infrastructure, or related sectors.

  • Experience working with solar installations, inverter systems, or distributed energy solutions.

  • Proven experience leading commercial projects or building new business lines.

Skills

  • Strong business development and partnership management skills.

  • Good understanding of solar technology, batteries, and inverter systems.

  • Ability to manage field operations and installation projects.

  • Strong commercial and operational management capability.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with renewable energy companies or solar providers.

  • Familiarity with energy-as-a-service or solar leasing models.

  • Experience working with SME customers or property developments in Nigeria.
