Job Overview:

African Land is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter to join our construction and finishing team in Lagos. This role is ideal for a professional with experience in delivering high-quality interior and exterior finishes across residential and commercial properties. The successful candidate will play a key role in enhancing the visual appeal and durability of our developments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare surfaces for painting, including sanding, filling, and priming
• Apply paint, varnish, coatings, and finishes to walls, ceilings, and exterior surfaces
• Work on both interior and exterior painting projects
• Ensure smooth, clean, and high-quality finishes
• Mix and match paints to achieve desired colours and textures
• Inspect surfaces and identify necessary repairs before painting
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in good condition
• Follow safety guidelines and use protective equipment
• Collaborate with site managers and other tradespeople

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a painter in construction or property development
• Strong knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and tools
• Ability to deliver neat and high-quality finishing work
• Familiarity with surface preparation and treatment methods
• Relevant trade certification is an advantage
• Minimum of 2–5 years of practical experience
• Attention to detail and a strong work ethic
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with decorative finishes and textured coatings
• Knowledge of waterproofing and protective coatings
• Experience working on large-scale residential or commercial projects
• Basic understanding of colour design and finishing aesthetics
