Role Overview

The Head of Automotive & Aerospace Engineering will be responsible for designing, building, and supervising the production of vehicles and specialised engineering systems, including automotive and aerospace applications. This role requires a visionary leader with strong technical expertise and the ability to establish and manage high-performance engineering and manufacturing teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and production of vehicles and specialised automotive systems
• Oversee engineering, prototyping, and full-scale manufacturing processes
• Supervise the development of aerospace-grade components and systems where applicable
• Establish and manage manufacturing facilities, tooling, and production lines
• Ensure compliance with international engineering, safety, and quality standards
• Manage multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers
• Drive innovation, R&D, and continuous improvement in product design and performance
• Oversee supply chain, sourcing of materials, and vendor relationships
• Implement strict quality assurance and testing protocols
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure compliance with relevant standards
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering
• Master’s degree (MSc or MBA) is a strong advantage

Experience

• Minimum of 10–15 years’ experience in automotive or aerospace engineering
• Proven experience in vehicle design, manufacturing, or assembly operations
• Experience in setting up or managing production facilities
• Demonstrated leadership in large-scale engineering projects

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, powertrains, materials, and manufacturing processes
• Experience with CAD/CAE tools (e.g. CATIA, SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
• Understanding of aerospace standards and precision engineering
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and production optimisation
• Familiarity with advanced materials, composites, and fabrication techniques
