How to Buy Fuel from Dangote Refinery: Bulk Prices, Offtake and Buyer Checks

If you want to buy diesel from Dangote refinery, arrange a petrol offtake agreement or compare bulk fuel supply in Lagos, begin with a clearly defined requirement and a verifiable seller. What product do you need?

Specify AGO or diesel, PMS or petrol, Jet A-1, DPK kerosene or another defined product. Dangote’s sales catalogue lists these product categories, but a listing does not confirm the availability, price or specification of a particular parcel. Obtain a current written offer and supporting quality documents.

Use the intended application to set acceptance criteria. Aviation fuel, industrial diesel and domestic kerosene require different controls and receiving arrangements. A generic “refined petroleum” enquiry does not provide enough information for a reliable quotation.

Direct refinery purchase or supply through a trader?

Identify the contracting seller and the basis on which it can supply. If buying through a trader, ask for the documentary route by which the product will be sold and delivered. Independently confirm any claimed mandate, allocation or refinery appointment through the principal’s established contact channel.

What is the bulk price per litre?

Request a dated quotation. State product grade, quantity, loading or delivery location, delivery period, currency and payment terms. A refinery loading price and a delivered price to a factory or filling station are different figures.

Ask whether taxes, transport, handling, inspection and other charges are included. Agree the measurement basis, quantity tolerance and how discrepancies will be resolved. A search for a 2025 gasoil price or historic fuel offer should not be used as a current buying instruction.

Preparing a buyer enquiry

• Legal buyer name and intended use or resale market.
• Product and required specification.
• Single delivery quantity and recurring demand.
• Collection or delivery, with exact receiving location.
• Requested loading window and receiving capacity.
• Proposed payment method and compliance contact.

Share sensitive corporate or banking documents only through a verified, agreed due-diligence channel. A preliminary requirement can usually be discussed without sending a complete banking file to an unknown intermediary.

Truck loading, coastal cargo and offtake contracts

For road supply, confirm the approved carrier, vehicle suitability, dispatch schedule and receiving arrangements. For marine parcels, the vessel, terminal acceptance and inspection scope must be coordinated before nomination. Product purchase and logistics should not be treated as unrelated contracts when one depends on the other.

An offtake agreement should define volume, quality, delivery basis, scheduling, price mechanism, payment security and remedies. Obtain professional review of obligations rather than assuming a letter of intent creates a supply commitment.

Permits and verification

NMDPRA operates a petroleum product import and export permit system. The required licences and approvals depend on the activity and route; confirm the applicable position with the regulator and appointed professionals. A general company registration is not proof of permission for every petroleum activity.
