What it looks like in practice

One shipment, through your specialist's hands.

Multiply by every container you move — the rhythm is the product.

Before it sails

Documents cleared first

Proforma, Form M and permits checked and filed while the goods are still at origin — the errors caught here cost nothing.

In transit

PAAR & assessment

PAAR obtained and reconciled against the expected duty; discrepancies queried before the vessel arrives, not after.

At the port

Clearance worked daily

Your specialist liaises with the agent, terminal and customs — queries answered same-day, holds chased, you updated on WhatsApp.

Delivered

File closed properly

Duty receipts, exit documents and the full record filed — audit-ready, and feeding the next shipment's budget.

Why this role works

Backed by a company that clears its own cargo — every day.

ALONGSIDEYour agent stays

This role supports your existing clearing agent rather than replacing them — a second pair of expert eyes on documents and a persistent chaser at the port. No agent yet? We'll introduce one.

REAL PRACTICENot slideware compliance

Wigmore imports and exports through Lagos ports daily. Your specialist's advice comes from this week's clearances, not last year's seminar notes.

OFFICIAL CHANNELSFluent, not fixing

Everything runs through documented, official channels with terminals, agencies and the Nigeria Customs Service. Speed here comes from clean paperwork and persistence — the only kind that lasts.

FLEXIBILITYScale with your season

Part-time in the quiet months, full-time for peak season, day-rate for surges — and stop at month's end whenever the trade winds change.

The questions importers ask.

Does this replace my clearing agent?
No — and that's deliberate. Physical clearing licences and port declarations remain your agent's function; your specialist makes the agent faster and keeps them honest: documents arrive defect-free, queries get answered same-day with evidence, and someone whose only job is your shipments chases every step. If you don't have an agent, we'll introduce a vetted one — or connect you to Wigmore's own clearing operation.
Part-time, full-time or day-rate — which do I need?
A rough guide: up to a handful of shipments a month with standard goods — part-time ($595). Weekly containers, regulated products, or multiple ports — full-time ($795). A single stuck container, a customs audit, or a seasonal import surge — bespoke day-rate from $200/day. Not sure? Describe your trade on WhatsApp and we'll tell you honestly, including if the cheaper tier is enough.
Which ports and airports are covered?
The Lagos gateways where most Nigerian cargo moves: Apapa, Tin Can Island and the Lekki Deep Sea Port, plus Lagos air freight. Shipments routed elsewhere — Onne, Port Harcourt — are handled through our partner network with your specialist still running the file.
How does my specialist keep me updated?
WhatsApp, primarily — the same milestone rhythm as our shipping service: documents filed, PAAR issued, arrived, query raised (with what's being done about it), released, delivered. Plus a monthly summary of duties paid, issues resolved and anything regulatory heading your way. The goal is that "where's my container?" becomes a question you never need to type.
Can you guarantee no fines or delays?
No one honest can — customs retains discretion, and rules change mid-shipment. What we can guarantee is the discipline that prevents most fines and delays: documents checked before customs checks them, issues raised early while they're cheap to fix, and everything run through official channels so a resolved problem stays resolved. Ask us how a specific risk on your goods would be handled — you'll get a straight answer.
