United Kingdom shipments

Confirm whether the goods are going to Great Britain, Northern Ireland or another territory, because the procedures can differ. Agree the Spanish exporter, destination importer, customs representatives and the information needed for declarations.

Spanish dispatch does not automatically establish preferential origin or duty-free treatment. Any preference must be supported under the applicable rules. VAT, product standards and import controls also need assessment for the actual goods.

Other non-EU European destinations

Switzerland, Norway, Turkey, Andorra, Gibraltar, Serbia and Ukraine have their own customs, tax and product arrangements. A trade or customs agreement does not mean every product moves without conditions. Confirm the current procedure and route before booking.

If transport crosses additional territories, determine the transit arrangements and responsibility for guarantees or documentation. The European Commission’s transit information is a useful starting point for customs specialists.

Ukraine-related routing and other affected movements also require current operational and legal confirmation. Do not rely on a historic transit estimate or a previous booking as evidence that the same service is available now.

Cost and delivery scope

Separate collection, export handling, transport, customs, taxes and final delivery. State whether the receiver can unload and whether appointments or specialist handling are required. Agree who responds to a customs query and supplies missing evidence.

Compare quotes on the same cargo description and terms. A low linehaul price may exclude customs representation, transit formalities, storage or redelivery. Confirm which charges are fixed and which depend on events.
