As part of our expansion strategy, Wigmore Trading is launching a waste processing and recycling infrastructure platform focused on transforming waste streams into valuable resources.

The goal is to help cities, businesses, and communities reduce landfill waste, recover recyclable materials, and develop sustainable waste processing systems.


Role Summary

The Head of Waste Processing & Recycling Infrastructure will lead the development and growth of Wigmore Trading’s waste processing equipment and recycling infrastructure business.

The role focuses on deploying waste processing technologies, establishing recycling supply chains, and building partnerships that convert waste streams into valuable materials such as recycled plastics, compost, and energy products.

This position requires a professional with strong experience in waste management systems, recycling operations, environmental engineering, or waste processing infrastructure.


Key Responsibilities

Business & Strategy Development

  • Develop the strategy for Wigmore Trading’s waste processing and recycling infrastructure platform.

  • Identify opportunities to deploy plastic recycling lines, composting facilities, and waste processing equipment.

  • Build scalable models for waste recovery and recycling across urban and industrial environments.

Infrastructure Deployment

  • Lead deployment of waste processing facilities including shredders, recycling lines, compost digesters, and waste conversion systems.

  • Develop modular processing units suitable for markets, estates, and municipal waste collection points.

  • Ensure infrastructure meets environmental safety and operational standards.

Recycling Supply Chain Development

  • Build supply chains that connect waste collectors, recycling processors, and manufacturers using recycled materials.

  • Develop systems for waste sorting, material recovery, and recycling logistics.

  • Implement operational processes that maximise recovery value from waste streams.

Partnerships & Market Expansion

  • Build partnerships with municipal governments, waste management companies, and environmental organisations.

  • Work with manufacturers and producer responsibility organisations on recycling initiatives.

  • Expand adoption across residential estates, commercial facilities, and industrial zones.

Operations & Platform Management

  • Build and manage teams responsible for facility operations, equipment maintenance, and recycling logistics.

  • Implement monitoring systems for waste processing performance and operational efficiency.

  • Ensure strong operational processes for environmental compliance and safety.


Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Waste Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

Experience

  • 7–10 years of experience in waste management, recycling infrastructure, environmental services, or industrial processing systems.

  • Experience managing waste processing facilities or recycling operations.

  • Experience working with municipalities, waste management companies, or environmental organisations.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of waste processing technologies and recycling supply chains.

  • Experience deploying infrastructure projects and managing operations.

  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management capability.

  • Ability to build partnerships across government, industry, and community organisations.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with recycling companies, waste processing firms, or environmental infrastructure providers.

  • Familiarity with environmental compliance standards and waste management regulations.

  • Experience launching scalable recycling or environmental service platforms.
