This role is ideal for a professional passionate about uncovering insights, analysing market trends, and producing high-impact reports within the trading, commodities, and business sectors.

The successful candidate will play a key role in researching and publishing in-depth content that strengthens our brand authority and informs clients, partners, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth research and investigations into trade, commodities, and market trends
• Develop well-researched articles, reports, and features for publication
• Gather information from multiple sources, including interviews, data analysis, and field research
• Verify facts, ensure accuracy, and maintain high editorial standards
• Identify emerging trends, risks, and opportunities within African and global markets
• Collaborate with marketing and content teams to produce engaging, SEO-friendly content
• Build and maintain a network of credible sources and industry contacts
• Monitor regulatory, economic, and industry developments
• Present findings in clear, compelling, and accessible formats

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a journalist, investigative reporter, or business writer
• Strong research, analytical, and storytelling skills
• Ability to interpret data and complex information
• Excellent writing and editing skills in English
• Degree in Journalism, Communications, Economics, or a related field (preferred)
• Minimum of 2–5 years of relevant experience
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Preferred Skills:

• Experience covering business, trade, or financial markets
• Knowledge of African trade ecosystems and commodities markets
• Familiarity with SEO writing and digital publishing
• Data journalism or research analysis experience
• Ability to conduct interviews and investigative fieldwork
