Introduction to Wigmore Trading and its Nylon Bags

Wigmore Trading is a Ghanaian company that specializes in the production of high-quality nylon bags. The company was founded in Accra in 2014 by two young entrepreneurs, Kwame and Kofi Asamoah.

Wigmore Trading’s nylon bags are made from 100% recycled materials and are designed to be durable and versatile. The bags come in a variety of colors and sizes, and can be used for a variety of purposes, including shopping, laundry, and storage.

In addition to their nylon bags, Wigmore Trading also produces a line of reusable shopping bags made from recycled materials. These bags are available in a variety of colors and sizes, and can be used for both shopping and storage.

In 2016, Wigmore Trading partnered with the Ghanaian nonprofit organization One Village One Product (1V1P) to launch a new line of fair trade certified nylon bags. This partnership allows Wigmore Trading to sell their nylon bags at a fair price to Ghanaian consumers while also supporting 1V1P’s mission to promote economic development in rural communities.

The launch of the fair trade certified nylon bag line was a success, and Wigmore Trading has since expanded their production capacity to meet the growing demand for their products. In addition to their Accra factory, the company now has production facilities in Kumasi and Tamale.

What are the Benefits of Using Nylon Bags?

When it comes to finding new ways to use old materials, Ghanaians are masters. That’s why we were so excited to partner with Wigmore Trading, a UK-based company that specializes in working with communities in Africa to create sustainable livelihoods through the creative re-use of waste materials.

One of the products they’ve developed is a line of beautiful and sturdy bags made from recycled nylon. We sat down with Wigmore’s Director, Howard Wolff, to learn more about these amazing bags and the impact they’re having in Ghana.

Nylon is an incredibly versatile material, which makes it perfect for bags. It’s strong and durable, yet lightweight, so it can hold a lot without being too bulky or heavy. And because it’s water resistant, it’s perfect for carrying anything from groceries to swimming gear.

But the best part about nylon bags is that they’re helping to reduce plastic pollution in Ghana. According to Wolff, “Each bag prevents around 30 plastic bags from being produced and entering the environment – that’s over 900 plastic bags per month!”

Not only are nylon bags preventing plastic pollution, they’re also providing much-needed employment opportunities for women in Ghana. The majority of the women employed by Wigmore Trading are single mothers who are struggling to support their families on their own. Making these bags gives them

In Ghana, nylon bags are ubiquitous. They’re used for everything from carrying groceries to storing clothes and transporting goods to market. But these versatile bags can be used for so much more than just shopping and traveling.

Here are some creative ways to use nylon bags:

1. Make a stylish purse or clutch by repurposing an old nylon bag. Just cut off the bottom of the bag and add a strap or handle.

2. Create a unique piece of wall art by painting or drawing on a nylon bag. This is a great way to personalize your space and add some color to your walls.

Importance of Supporting Local Businesses: A Collaboration with Wigmore Trading

There are many reasons why it is important to support local businesses. When you buy from a locally owned business, your money stays in the community and supports local jobs, taxes, and other vital community services. Additionally, local businesses are typically more invested in the community and its well-being than national chains. They are also usually better able to meet the unique needs of the community.

At Wigmore Trading, we believe that supporting local businesses is essential to the development of strong communities. That’s why we partner with local businesses whenever possible. Our most recent partnership is with a Ghanaian company that produces nylon bags.

Nylon bags are extremely versatile and can be used for a variety of purposes, including carrying groceries, laundry, or school supplies. They are also durable and affordable, making them an ideal option for families in Ghana who may not be able to afford more expensive bags.

By partnering with this local business, we are able to provide high-quality nylon bags to families in Ghana at an affordable price. We are also supporting the development of a strong local economy, which benefits everyone in the community.
