About the Role
African Land is looking to hire a dedicated and highly organized Assistant Facilities Manager to support the operations and maintenance of our building assets in Accra. This role works closely with the senior Facilities Manager and supports day-to-day building management functions across residential and commercial properties.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in facilities operations, a keen understanding of building systems, and the ability to coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional looking to grow into a leadership role in facilities and real estate operations.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in managing the operation and maintenance of all building systems, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and safety systems.

Coordinate with service providers and maintenance contractors to ensure timely and high-quality work.

Support the execution of preventive maintenance schedules and building inspections.

Monitor inventory and ordering of supplies and spare parts for facility needs.

Help ensure compliance with all building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards in Ghana.

Respond promptly to tenant complaints or requests and provide status updates.

Maintain accurate records of building operations, work orders, vendor performance, and cost tracking.

Provide backup support in supervising maintenance staff during the absence of the Facilities Manager.

Support facility improvement projects and renovations.
Qualifications
-
HND or Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Building Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Industry certification (e.g., IFMA FMP or equivalent) is a plus.
Experience
-
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in building or facilities management.

Prior experience working in multi-use or multi-tenant buildings is preferred.

Familiarity with Ghana’s building maintenance regulations and standards.

Proven experience managing contractors and vendors.
Skills & Competencies

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with facility management systems is a plus.

Good communication and interpersonal abilities.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
