Company: Wigmore Trading
Location: Abuja, Nigeria
Position: Market Representative – Dei-Dei International Building Materials Market

About the Role

Wigmore Trading seeks an energetic, entrepreneurial, and trustworthy Market Representative to drive our presence in Dei-Dei International Building Materials Market, one of Abuja’s primary hubs for building supplies and construction materials. This market is renowned for its wide array of goods: cement, blocks, roofing materials, tiles, plumbing fixtures, electrical components, doors, steel, finishing materials, and more.

In this role, you’ll be the bridge between Wigmore Trading and large importers, merchants, and traders within the building materials ecosystem. You will facilitate bulk orders, manage deliveries, recruit sellers, and expand our footprint in the construction sector in Abuja and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Orders & Deliveries: Oversee logistics for large-scale orders of building and construction materials (e.g. cement, roofing sheets, tiles, plumbing, electrical, doors, steel). Ensure timely and accurate delivery to merchants and clients.

  • Onboard Sellers & Merchants: Identify and recruit building materials dealers, wholesalers, importers, and retailers to join Wigmore Trading’s platform.

  • Engage Importers & Distributors: Build partnerships with importers and major distributors of construction inputs, and bring them onto Wigmore’s network.

  • Market Representation: Serve as Wigmore’s face in Dei-Dei, building trust, offering support, and staying responsive to market dynamics.

  • Partnership Development & Retention: Maintain and nurture strong, long-term relationships with key traders, architects, contractors, and distributors to grow Wigmore’s influence.

  • Market Intelligence: Monitor price trends, supply chain challenges, stock levels, and competitor activity in the building materials space in Abuja.

  • Problem-solving & Escalation: Quickly handle delivery issues, disputes, or logistical challenges to maintain integrity and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience in sales, logistics, market representation, or business development—preferably in construction, building materials, hardware, or industrial goods.

  • Good understanding of the building materials supply chain (import, distribution, retail).

  • Energetic, entrepreneurial, and self-motivated personality with strong drive and discipline.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication (written & verbal), and presentation skills.

  • High level of integrity, reliability, and ability to establish credibility in a competitive market.

  • Strong networking skills and the ability to identify and onboard high-value partners.

  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic environment, respond to challenges, and maintain quality of service.

Why Join Wigmore Trading?

  • Be part of building a stronger, more efficient supply chain in Nigeria’s construction sector.

  • Work at the frontline of trade in Abuja in a critical market.

  • Opportunity for growth, commission on deals, and impact on market development.

  • Collaborate with a forward-thinking company focused on bridging gaps between importers, sellers, and buyers in Africa.
