📰 About the Role

Wigmore Trading is on the hunt for an exceptionally intelligent, articulate, and charismatic Online News Presenter to be the face of our growing digital media content. You’ll lead daily video segments on African trade, business developments, logistics, and economic stories—with poise, depth, and charisma.

We publish daily news updates, so you must be available to record and deliver video segments every day, Monday to Friday. Consistency, speed, and quality are critical.

We’re not looking for a traditional anchor—we want someone who combines intellect, curiosity, style, and camera presence to make news compelling and relatable.

🎯 Responsibilities

  • Anchor and present daily business and trade news updates tailored to a global audience interested in Africa.

  • Write or adapt scripts for your own presentations (we’ll support you with research and briefings).

  • Record and deliver daily videos (5–10 minutes average) with a polished, professional presence.

  • Conduct live or recorded interviews with business leaders, analysts, and insiders.

  • Bring wit, energy, and clarity to complex topics—turn facts into stories.

✅ Who We’re Looking For

  • Age: Ideally 35–55

  • Location: Based in Nigeria or West Africa (or strong familiarity with the region)

  • Traits: Charismatic, smart, confident, culturally aware, and eloquent

  • Communication: Excellent speaking voice, natural storytelling flow, engaging on camera

  • Mindset: News-hungry, fast learner, creative thinker, comfortable under deadline pressure

  • Commitment: Available daily (Monday to Friday) to tape short segments on schedule

📚 Ideal Qualifications & Background

We value intelligence and creativity as much as formal qualifications. However, experience in journalism or broadcasting is a strong plus.

  • Degree or diploma in:

    • Journalism, Communications, International Relations, Business, or Political Science

  • Relevant training from:

    • BBC Academy

    • National Broadcast Academy, Lagos

    • Coursera (e.g. “Journalism, the Future and You!”)

    • LinkedIn Learning (e.g. “On-Camera Video Presentation”)

  • Experience in:

    • TV or radio presenting

    • Podcasting or YouTube broadcasting

    • Corporate or political communications

If you’re self-taught but brilliant—prove it with your clip.

🎬 How to Apply

Email jobs@wigmoretrading.com with:

  1. Your CV (highlighting any media, presentation, or public speaking experience)

  2. A 1–2 minute video clip of yourself presenting a short news-style piece (any topic—just show your voice and style)

🔍 Bonus Points For

  • Fluency in French, Hausa, Yoruba, or other regional languages

  • Familiarity with OBS, StreamYard, or other remote production tools

  • Understanding of African markets and international trade

We’re telling Africa’s most important stories. Join Wigmore Trading and become a daily voice in the conversation.
