📰 About the Role
Wigmore Trading is on the hunt for an exceptionally intelligent, articulate, and charismatic Online News Presenter to be the face of our growing digital media content. You’ll lead daily video segments on African trade, business developments, logistics, and economic stories—with poise, depth, and charisma.
We publish daily news updates, so you must be available to record and deliver video segments every day, Monday to Friday. Consistency, speed, and quality are critical.
We’re not looking for a traditional anchor—we want someone who combines intellect, curiosity, style, and camera presence to make news compelling and relatable.
🎯 Responsibilities

Anchor and present daily business and trade news updates tailored to a global audience interested in Africa.

Write or adapt scripts for your own presentations (we’ll support you with research and briefings).

Record and deliver daily videos (5–10 minutes average) with a polished, professional presence.

Conduct live or recorded interviews with business leaders, analysts, and insiders.

Bring wit, energy, and clarity to complex topics—turn facts into stories.

Age: Ideally 35–55

Location: Based in Nigeria or West Africa (or strong familiarity with the region)

Traits: Charismatic, smart, confident, culturally aware, and eloquent

Communication: Excellent speaking voice, natural storytelling flow, engaging on camera

Mindset: News-hungry, fast learner, creative thinker, comfortable under deadline pressure

Commitment: Available daily (Monday to Friday) to tape short segments on schedule
📚 Ideal Qualifications & Background
We value intelligence and creativity as much as formal qualifications. However, experience in journalism or broadcasting is a strong plus.

Journalism, Communications, International Relations, Business, or Political Science

Relevant training from:

BBC Academy

National Broadcast Academy, Lagos

Coursera (e.g. “Journalism, the Future and You!”)

LinkedIn Learning (e.g. “On-Camera Video Presentation”)

Experience in:

TV or radio presenting

Podcasting or YouTube broadcasting

Corporate or political communications
