Role Overview

African Land is seeking an energetic and client-focused Property Agent to join its Kampala team. The successful candidate will manage property listings, liaise with landlords and buyers, and support sales and leasing activities across Uganda’s expanding residential and commercial property markets.

This role requires a results-driven professional with excellent communication and negotiation skills, a solid understanding of the local real estate landscape, and a passion for delivering exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and manage property listings (residential, commercial, and land) across Kampala and surrounding regions.

  • Build and maintain relationships with landlords, tenants, investors, and developers.

  • Conduct market research, viewings, and price appraisals.

  • Negotiate sales and leasing terms, prepare offers, and facilitate transaction closings.

  • Collaborate with marketing teams to ensure property visibility through digital campaigns and listings.

  • Maintain updated client and property information in CRM systems.

  • Stay informed on market trends, property laws, and development opportunities in Uganda.

  • Represent African Land at property exhibitions, investor meetings, and community events.

Qualifications & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.

  • Certification or affiliation with the Association of Real Estate Agents Uganda (AREA-U) or an equivalent body is advantageous.

  • Benchmark universities for candidate caliber:

    • Makerere University – Business, Economics, or Land Economics

    • Uganda Management Institute – Management or Finance

    • Uganda Christian University – Business or Real Estate Studies

    • Kyambogo University – Building Economics or Construction Management

    • Comparable regional institutions such as the University of Nairobi, University of Ghana, or University of Cape Town reflect the expected standard.

Skills & Experience

  • 2–5 years of experience in property sales, leasing, or brokerage.

  • Strong knowledge of Kampala’s property market and legal framework.

  • Proven ability to achieve or exceed sales targets.

  • Excellent communication, networking, and negotiation skills.

  • Fluent in English and Luganda (additional local languages are an advantage).

  • Proficient in CRM platforms and digital property marketing tools.

  • Highly organized and attentive to detail.

Personal Attributes

  • Professional, courteous, and customer-focused.

  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and proactive.

  • Ethical, dependable, and able to manage confidential information.

  • Adaptable and capable of working effectively within a multicultural team.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary plus commission and performance bonuses.

  • Regional training and professional development opportunities.

  • Career growth within African Land’s pan-African network.
