A silage preservative or TMR additive should fit the forage and the stage where losses occur. Preparing silage, controlling an opened face and managing a mixed ration in a feed bunk are related tasks with different requirements. Wigmore Trading helps Nigerian dairy and livestock buyers source products against an agreed feeding and storage brief.

If you are enquiring about Fresilo, Fresilo S, Fermcid, Fermswitch, Freshlock or Freshlock S, share the current or previous label. Confirm the exact formulation and intended application before ordering. Similar names are not enough to decide whether a product belongs at ensiling, after fermentation or during ration preparation.

Where is your forage losing value?

Describe the crop, harvest condition, storage structure and feed-out process. Is the concern poor initial fermentation, heating after opening, visible spoilage or a ration sitting too long before consumption? Record when the problem starts and how it is measured. A specific brief helps your nutritionist and supplier narrow the product options.

For total mixed ration preservation, include ration composition, mixing time, ambient exposure and the interval between mixing and feeding. For silage, include a forage analysis and the way material is compacted and sealed. An additive purchase should complement those management decisions rather than obscure a recurring handling problem.

Fresilo and controlled fermentation products

Addeasy’s current manufacturer page describes Fresilo L as a liquid silage preservative and Fermswitch as a product for controlled fermentation in fermented feeds. The Wigmore Wholesale listing uses the name Fresilo. Ask us to reconcile the precise variant, label and pack being offered; do not assume L and S variants or an unsuffixed listing are identical.

For Fermcid or Freshlock enquiries, request current technical literature before accepting an application recommendation. Specify whether you want to encourage a particular fermentation outcome or limit further spoilage after fermentation. These are different objectives, and an “inoculant alternative” search term does not establish biological equivalence to a particular inoculant.

Ruminant nutrition beyond a preservative

Dairy cow and other ruminant feed additives should be assessed within the complete ration. Include the animal class, production stage, forage-to-concentrate balance and the qualified adviser’s formulation. A preservation product protects a material or process; it should not be presented as a complete dairy nutrition programme or a guaranteed milk-yield increase.

When a supplier proposes a different product, ask how its intended use fits the ration and handling conditions. Keep species-specific limitations visible, especially when a business feeds cattle, sheep and goats from the same store. A bulk purchase can create costly confusion if containers are repacked without traceable labels.

Application equipment and handling

Ask whether the product requires a compatible spray unit, pump, seals and flow measurement. Check that the equipment can distribute the product evenly through the actual work rate. Use the manufacturer’s instructions and safety data for the final procedure; do not estimate an inclusion level from a generic organic-acid concentration.

Discuss who calibrates the system, records usage and checks container identity before a shift. Include cleaning and maintenance in the proposed supply arrangement where needed. A delivered drum without a workable application process may leave the original feed-loss problem unresolved.

Assessing the commercial result

Define a trial period and useful measurements with your farm adviser: discarded feed, heating observations, intake records and relevant forage tests. Compare like-for-like periods as far as practical, accounting for ration changes and weather. Avoid attributing every change in animal performance to one additive when several variables have changed.

Work out the cost of product, application, storage and wastage together. Buying the cheapest pack can be a false saving if the pack is too large for your use or arrives close to expiry. Request batch information and remaining shelf life in the written quotation.

Order through Wigmore Trading

Send the forage or ration type, animal group, monthly volume, intended application point and delivery location. Attach analysis or label photographs where available. Wigmore Trading can discuss Addeasy product sourcing and a commercial delivery plan for Nigeria or another destination, subject to confirmation of product suitability, current availability and applicable requirements.

Manufacturer and reference information

Product information must be checked against current manufacturer documents and the requirements for the exact formulation and destination. Your veterinarian, nutritionist or quality adviser should review the proposed use.
