Your message tells us which page you came from

Two-way SMS lets an organisation receive replies as well as send messages, where the proposed number, route and provider support it. Businesses considering short codes, feedback, subscriptions or SMS chatbots need a complete service design. Wigmore Trading accepts messaging sourcing and integration enquiries in Nigeria and Africa, with code allocation, network access and technical features confirmed through the relevant providers.

Do you need replies or only notifications?

A one-way sender name should not be assumed to receive responses. Describe how customers will reply, where replies will be processed and what the organisation must do next. If a service is called an SMS chatbot, establish whether it uses simple rules, a human inbox or another application. The label does not establish an autonomous system or support for every language and workflow.

Use case Planning question
Customer feedback How is the reply linked to the correct service interaction?
SMS survey or poll Who may participate, what permissions apply and how are results interpreted?
Subscriptions What charges, terms, joining and cancellation steps must be communicated?
Service requests Who reviews replies and what response time is actually offered?
Short-code service Which allocation, network, provider and approval dependencies apply?

Short codes and premium services need explicit terms

Ask the provider to explain the available code type, supported networks, assignment process and applicable commercial or regulatory requirements. A premium short code can involve charging and settlement questions that differ from ordinary notifications. Do not advertise an active code, universal network reach or a subscription charge until the relevant arrangements are confirmed in writing.

Consent, preferences and clear communication

Explain the sender, purpose and any cost before inviting participation. Provide the appropriate withdrawal or cancellation process and ensure that replies are handled consistently. Transactional messages, marketing and paid subscriptions should not be casually merged. Review the applicable requirements for each market rather than assuming that an African regional service has a single consent rule.

Surveys and voting need honest limitations

An SMS poll reflects the participants and controls of that particular exercise; it is not automatically a representative survey or an official election system. Define eligibility, duplicate handling, result verification and dispute procedures. For civic or political organisations, keep procurement and consent controls neutral and follow applicable rules. Do not use purchased or harvested numbers to expand participation.

Operational integration

Specify how inbound messages become application events, tickets or records. Test delayed, duplicate, malformed and unmatched replies. Confirm authorised access, retention and privacy arrangements, especially where customers may disclose personal information. Provide a safe escalation path for messages the automated flow cannot interpret. Do not invite users to send passwords, OTPs or sensitive records through a casual text conversation.

Compare the complete proposal

Request setup, code, message, support and settlement charges where relevant. Define who operates the service and who resolves failed replies or billing disputes. Agree launch criteria and a controlled pilot before promotion. “Interactive” does not guarantee immediate staffing or a particular response time; these need explicit service commitments.

Prepare a two-way messaging enquiry

Send Wigmore the markets, service purpose, expected volumes, reply workflow and target date. Tell us whether you need a short-code enquiry, provider comparison or application integration discovery. We can help scope the request and confirm available dependencies. Consult the NCC’s recipient-preference information for Nigerian context, and have qualified advisers assess service-specific obligations.

Discuss your requirement with Wigmore Trading

Tell us your markets, current systems, required capabilities, scale and target dates. We can help scope sourcing, procurement and integration requirements, with provider access and specialist responsibilities confirmed for the proposed project.

Discuss this requirement on WhatsAppBook an initial consultation

Email a non-sensitive brief to sales@wigmoretrading.com. Keep credentials, subscriber records and live recipient lists out of your initial message.
