A telecom analytics platform should help an operator answer a defined operational question. Nigerian and African businesses evaluating AI operations need to connect authorised data, explainable findings and a responsible action process. Wigmore Trading accepts sourcing and integration-planning enquiries; the actual analytics product, model capability and specialist support must be confirmed against the project.

Choose an operational objective

Network fault prediction, service-quality analysis, capacity planning and subscriber-service analytics have different data needs. Begin with the decision that a team must make and the cost of getting it wrong. Define a baseline using the current process. A platform advertised for big data or AI cannot demonstrate value until the intended outcome and evaluation method are clear.

Analytics area Question to settle
Network performance Which sources, service relationships and measurement definitions are reliable?
Predictive maintenance What event is being predicted and how will predictions be validated?
Subscriber analytics Which authorised purpose, safeguards and aggregation limits apply?
AI operations Who reviews recommendations and approves any production action?
Management reporting Which findings are measured, estimated or still unverified?

Build a usable data foundation

Document source systems, timestamps, identifiers, collection coverage and quality checks. Missing or delayed records can distort conclusions. Ask vendors to explain data lineage and how results can be reproduced. Agree access, retention and protection with the organisation’s privacy and security teams. Initial discussions should use redacted summaries or approved sample data rather than live subscriber records.

Treat prediction as a hypothesis to test

A predicted fault needs a defined time horizon and observable outcome. Evaluate false positives, missed events, review workload and changes in operating conditions. Compare the model with a simpler baseline. A high accuracy percentage can be misleading if it ignores rare but important incidents or uses an unrepresentative dataset. Ask the supplier to explain the evaluation in business terms.

Keep recommendations separate from autonomous changes

Start with decision support unless a qualified team has approved a broader operating scope. Define which recommendations may be acted on, who approves them and how changes are reversed. Keep evidence of the original alert, human assessment and outcome. AI should not become a way to bypass normal controls over network access or customer-impacting actions.

Assess the platform, not only the model

Data ingestion, integration, monitoring, user access and reporting can determine whether an analytics project is usable. Ask how models are updated and how performance drift is detected. Confirm whether the provider supplies the model, the data platform, professional services or an operating team. These are separate deliverables with different costs and dependencies.

Run a governed pilot

Agree approved datasets, a representative evaluation period and acceptance criteria before comparing vendors. Include engineering, operations, finance and privacy stakeholders as appropriate. Require a written record of limitations and additional work needed for deployment. A proof of concept should support a purchase decision rather than serve as an unsupported promise of guaranteed fault prevention or cost savings.

Discuss an analytics requirement with Wigmore

Send your organisation’s role, operating markets, target question, available data categories and project timetable. We can help organise provider research, requirements and quotation comparison, with specialist capabilities confirmed. The NDPC’s data-protection guidance is relevant background when personal data is involved. This page does not provide a legal basis for processing subscriber information or establish that Wigmore operates a live AI monitoring platform.

Discuss your requirement with Wigmore Trading

Tell us your markets, current systems, required capabilities, scale and target dates. We can help scope sourcing, procurement and integration requirements, with provider access and specialist responsibilities confirmed for the proposed project.

Discuss this requirement on WhatsAppBook an initial consultation

Email a non-sensitive brief to sales@wigmoretrading.com. Keep credentials, subscriber records and live recipient lists out of your initial message.
