A voice API or cloud telephony project should begin with the conversation your business needs to support. Customer service, voice notifications, IVR and automated assistance can require different numbering, routing, records and operating controls. Wigmore Trading accepts enquiries for communications-platform procurement and integration in Nigeria and Africa.
Send the use case, countries, intended callers or recipients and existing systems. Features, number availability, provider roles and commercial terms must be confirmed for the actual proposed service.
Define the call journey
Map inbound and outbound flows separately. Identify how a call starts, what the caller hears, how choices are entered and when a person should take over. For notifications, define the legitimate purpose, recipient permissions and an appropriate response or support route.
An IVR menu and a voice bot are different implementations. Decide which tasks can be automated and where the service needs a controlled handover to staff.
Confirm numbering and provider arrangements
Ask which legal provider supplies the service and what numbering or caller-identity arrangements are available for each market. Confirm applicable permissions and operator conditions. Do not assume a number or function demonstrated elsewhere is available in Nigeria or every African country.
Keep business identity and caller presentation accurate. A communications integration should not impersonate another organisation or rely on unverified caller-ID claims.
Prepare a voice project brief
| Area | What to specify |
|---|---|
| Use case | Inbound support, approved notification, IVR or automated assistance |
| Coverage | Countries, destinations, numbering and provider roles |
| Workflow | Menus, languages, routing, handover and unavailable-agent behaviour |
| Records | References, outcomes, reporting and retention requirements |
| Operations | Capacity, quality measures, incident support and charges |
Design recordings and data use deliberately
If calls are recorded or transcribed, establish the lawful purpose, notices, access and retention with the responsible advisers. Do not enable recording simply because it is included in a platform. Protect personal information and any sensitive discussion.
For a bot or analytics service, clarify where data is processed, how it is used and how customers reach a person. Avoid collecting or exposing credentials or unnecessary identity information through the conversation.
Evaluate quality and reliability with evidence
Ask for the measures relevant to your call flow and the actual network conditions. Distinguish platform availability, call setup, audio quality and completion of the customer task. A single uptime figure does not describe every aspect of voice service.
Test routing, busy or unanswered calls, invalid menu input and provider interruptions. Define escalation and recovery so customers are not trapped in a loop or left without a support route.
Specify API and enterprise integrations
Request current documentation for authentication, call events, status queries and supported interfaces. Identify how the service connects to CRM, helpdesk or other enterprise systems. Confirm access, version support and responsibility for custom code.
Use the telecom API management guide to prepare developer requirements. For voice-based verification, review the authentication guide separately rather than treating an ordinary call as proof of identity.
Compare the complete commercial scope
Ask for number, usage, setup, recording, integration and support charges where applicable. Understand how call attempts, durations and destinations are billed. Use representative traffic and call lengths in the cost comparison.
Confirm onboarding, permitted use and change management before promising a launch date. Agree how records and numbering arrangements will be handled if the service relationship ends.
Request a voice integration discussion
Tell Wigmore Trading the customer journey, markets, estimated traffic, languages, current systems and launch timetable. Include a flow diagram and public provider documentation where available. We can assess sourcing, implementation, testing and operational handover requirements, with service access and specialist responsibilities clarified in the proposal.
