Job Summary

The Real Estate Analyst will be responsible for providing in-depth market analysis, financial modeling, and strategic insights to support our investment and development initiatives in Johannesburg and beyond. This role requires a keen analytical mind, strong research skills, and a passion for understanding market dynamics to identify emerging opportunities and mitigate risks.

Key Responsibilities

• Market Research & Analysis:

  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify trends, opportunities, and risks in the Johannesburg real estate sector.
  • Monitor economic indicators, demographic trends, and regulatory changes that impact property markets.

• Financial Modeling & Valuation:

  • Develop detailed financial models, perform property valuations, and assess investment returns.
  • Prepare sensitivity analyses, cash flow projections, and risk assessments to support decision-making.

• Due Diligence & Reporting:

  • Assist in the due diligence process for potential acquisitions, developments, or partnerships.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior management and investors.

• Data Management & Technology:

  • Utilize advanced Excel skills and real estate analysis software to manage and analyze large datasets.
  • Leverage data visualization tools to communicate insights effectively.

• Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including finance, legal, and operations to ensure comprehensive project evaluation.
  • Liaise with external consultants, brokers, and market experts to gather insights and validate findings.

Qualifications

• Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • Candidates with degrees from top-tier South African institutions offering specialized real estate programs—such as the University of Cape Town, the University of the Witwatersrand, and Stellenbosch University—are highly preferred. A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, MRICS) is a plus.

• Experience:

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in real estate analysis, investment banking, or financial consulting.
  • Experience within the South African or broader African real estate market is highly desirable.

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and real estate valuation techniques.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and familiarity with industry-specific software (e.g., Argus, CoStar).

• Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with an aptitude for translating complex data into actionable insights.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
