The Opportunity
We are looking for a commercially driven Senior Minerals Sales & Trading Executive who combines strong technical knowledge of minerals with proven sales ability. This role is ideal for professionals who understand the geology behind the product and can successfully convert that knowledge into profitable trading relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales and trading activities across Nigeria’s solid minerals market
- Identify, onboard, and manage relationships with miners, aggregators, and suppliers
- Source and market minerals such as lithium, gold, iron ore, and limestone
- Develop and manage relationships with local and international buyers
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and supply agreements
- Monitor global commodity trends and identify trading opportunities
- Work closely with logistics and operations teams to ensure smooth execution
- Deliver revenue targets and contribute to business growth strategy
Candidate Profile
Educational Background
We are particularly interested in candidates with degrees in:
- Geology
- Geophysics
- Mining Engineering
- Mineral & Petroleum Resources Engineering
- Earth Sciences
- Metallurgical Engineering
Typical universities include:
University of Ibadan, University of Lagos, Obafemi Awolowo University, University of Nigeria Nsukka, FUTA, FUTO, Ahmadu Bello University, University of Jos, Covenant University.
Experience
- 3+ years in mineral sales, trading, or mining-related roles
- Demonstrated success in closing deals within the minerals or commodities sector
- Strong understanding of Nigeria’s solid minerals landscape
- Existing network within the mining ecosystem is highly advantageous
Skills & Competencies
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills
- Solid technical understanding of mineral types and grading
- Ability to identify and execute profitable trades
- Relationship-driven with a proactive mindset
