Bottled water prices in Nigeria by brand (2026)

Supermart.ng live listings viewed 28 September 2026. The Cway range includes a Jiji.ng seller listing (₦2,100) from the same month. Per-bottle figures are the pack price divided by the bottle count, rounded.

Single bottle prices

Supermart.ng listed single 75 cl bottles of Bigi at ₦160, Mamuda Pop at ₦170, Cway at ₦190 and Viju at ₦230, and a 60 cl Nestlé Pure Life at ₦220 (September 2026). Expect to pay more at kiosks, filling stations, cinemas, hotels and events, where a cold bottle carries a convenience mark-up.

Premium and imported water

Imported brands sit in a different price band. On Supermart.ng, Voss 500 ml × 24 cost ₦62,350 and Perrier sparkling 33 cl × 24 ₦48,650. On Jiji, a 12-pack of 1 L Evian was listed at ₦83,500 (September 2026). These are mostly bought by hotels, upscale restaurants, offices and airlines.

Sachet water (“pure water”) for comparison

Sachet water has also gone up. In April 2026 The Gazette reported bags selling at ₦500–₦600 in Lagos, up from ₦400. The Hygienic Water Producers Association blamed a jump in the cost of sachet nylon from ₦3,200 to ₦4,850 per kg (Gazette). In March 2026, Kano producers set a minimum of ₦300 a bag at the factory gate (Legit.ng).

Top bottled water brands in Nigeria

No official body ranks “the best water in Nigeria”. What matters is that the water is NAFDAC-registered, properly sealed and stored well. These are the brands you will find most often on Nigerian shelves and in distributors’ price lists.

• Eva is Coca-Cola’s water brand in Nigeria, listed by the Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC). It is widely distributed and a mid-to-upper price choice, popular with offices and events.
• Nestlé Pure Life comes in the widest range of sizes (33 cl, 60 cl and 1.5 L) and is a common choice for schools, offices and hotels.
• Aquafina is PepsiCo’s water brand, priced between the budget brands and Eva.
• Cway is a strong value brand. It also offers dispenser refills.
• Bigi, Cascade and Mr V are the budget 75 cl brands most caterers and small shops buy by the pack.
• Others you will see: Aquadana, Mamuda Pop, Viju, Ragolis, Swan, Gossy, Nirvana, Lasena, AquaLavie, plus many regional brands.

Looking for the “top 20” water brands? Beyond the names above, most states have strong local producers. A local brand with a valid NAFDAC number, clean packaging and good storage can be just as safe as a national one.

Why bottled water prices rose in 2026

• Packaging: bottles and sachets are made from petroleum-based plastics. Producers reported sharp rises in packaging costs in early 2026 (see the sachet nylon figures above).
• Diesel and power: many plants run on generators. In March 2026 Kano producers cited fuel at around ₦1,500 a litre and unreliable grid power (Legit.ng).
• Treatment chemicals and transport: both are cost lines that move with the exchange rate and fuel prices.
• Brand and distribution: national brands pay for advertising and long supply chains. That is part of why Eva costs roughly double Bigi per bottle.

Wholesale price of bottled water in Nigeria: how to buy in bulk

Manufacturers and distributors do not publish depot price lists, and prices change often. The honest way to find the wholesale price is to get two or three written quotes and compare them against the retail benchmark above.

Worked example: 50 packs for a restaurant or event

• 50 packs of Eva 75 cl × 12 at the September 2026 online retail price of ₦3,640 = ₦182,000 (600 bottles at about ₦303 each).
• 50 packs of a budget brand such as Bigi or Cascade 75 cl × 12 at ₦1,920 = ₦96,000 (about ₦160 a bottle).
• A wholesale quote should come in below these retail figures. If it doesn’t, keep shopping. Ask whether delivery, offloading and VAT are included.

What to ask a water supplier

1. What is the price per pack, and does it drop at 50, 100 packs or a full pallet?
2. Is delivery included, and how soon can you deliver?
3. What is the production date? Ask for fresh stock, not old stock that has sat in a hot warehouse.
4. Can you supply a steady weekly quantity at a fixed price for a month or a quarter?
5. Do you issue a proper invoice or receipt?

Buying for a supermarket, restaurant or hotel

Water is a low-margin, high-volume line, so delivery reliability matters as much as price. Stock two price tiers: a budget 75 cl brand for everyday sales and a known brand such as Eva or Nestlé for customers who ask for it. Restaurants and hotels usually standardise on one brand for table service. NAFDAC checks: how to tell if bottled water is safe

Before you buy, and every time you take a new delivery, run these checks.

1. NAFDAC registration number: it must be printed on the label or sachet. No number means you should not buy.
2. Batch number, production date and expiry date: these should be clearly printed, not handwritten or scratched off.
3. Seal: the cap must click when you break it. Reject bottles with loose caps, signs of refilling or damaged shrink-wrap.
4. Clarity and smell: the water should be clear, with no particles, cloudiness or smell. Hold a bottle up to the light.
5. Manufacturer details: the label should give a name and address you could contact.
6. Storage: do not buy packs that have been left in direct sun at a roadside depot. Store your own stock in the shade, off the floor and away from chemicals and fuel.

Avoiding supplier scams

• Supermarkets (in store or online) are good for small quantities and price checks.
• Online marketplaces (Jumia, Jiji) are convenient, but check the seller’s reviews and the delivery fee.
