Commercial laundry equipment in Nigeria should be selected around the amount and type of linen your business actually processes. A hotel, restaurant, hospital and contract laundry can all require different workflows. Wigmore Trading accepts enquiries for commercial washing, drying and finishing equipment, hospitality uniforms and related procurement requirements.
A useful quotation starts with daily laundry volume, available space and utilities. Tell us whether you are opening a laundry, replacing one machine or planning a complete hotel laundry package. The hospitality supplies team can assess the sourcing requirement and clarify the specialist design and installation scope.
Calculate the workload before choosing machines
List bed linen, towels, table linen, kitchen cloths, uniforms and any specialist items separately. Record typical and peak volumes, change frequency, operating hours and the turnaround needed. Machine capacity alone is not a complete output calculation: programme time, loading, drying and finishing can create bottlenecks.
For an existing operation, use actual load records and rejected or rewashed items. For a new property, build a forecast from room count, occupancy assumptions and food-service activity. Test the forecast with the operations team before approving equipment sizes.
Match washers, dryers and finishing equipment
A balanced laundry needs more than a large washer. Compare extraction performance, dryer capacity, ironing or finishing requirements and the labour needed to move linen between stages. Delicate garments and specialist textiles may require separate handling.
| Equipment | Questions for the quotation |
|---|---|
| Commercial washer | Load capacity, cycles, extraction, dosing compatibility, utilities and service access |
| Tumble dryer | Heat source, capacity, controls, exhaust requirements and cleaning access |
| Flatwork finishing | Linen dimensions, output expectations, staffing and guarding |
| Handling equipment | Separate clean and soiled storage, carts, shelving and ergonomic workflow |
| Chemical system | Approved product compatibility, controlled dosing and staff instruction |
Have the site and utilities assessed
Arrange competent review of power, water supply, drainage, ventilation, floor loading, access and any gas or steam services. Equipment must be installed and commissioned to the manufacturer’s requirements. A machine that fits the floor plan may still be unsuitable if utilities or maintenance access are inadequate.
Agree responsibility for building work, connections, testing and operator training. Request a clear commissioning record and manuals. The purchase order should identify what the supplier provides and what your local contractors must complete before delivery.
Protect linen quality and hygiene
Separate clean and soiled flows in the laundry plan and use procedures appropriate to your business. Healthcare laundry requires its own infection-prevention assessment; hotel processes should not be assumed suitable for clinical materials. Select chemicals for the equipment, fabric and intended task, following product instructions and professional advice.
Run wash trials on proposed hotel linen and towels. Review shrinkage, fabric feel, stains, drying time and finishing quality together. Cheaper linen or a faster programme may not reduce overall cost if it increases rejection or replacement rates.
Include uniforms in the operating plan
Chef jackets, aprons, housekeeping uniforms, front-of-house clothing and protective workwear have different requirements. Specify fabric, sizes, colour, branding and laundering method. Approve samples and size sets before bulk production, and plan replacements for new staff and normal wear.
Keep ordinary uniforms distinct from protective equipment required by a risk assessment. A branded garment does not automatically provide chemical, heat or other hazard protection.
Compare operating cost and after-sales scope
Ask for the assumptions behind water, energy and output figures. Compare installation, consumables, maintenance intervals, spare parts, downtime support and warranty conditions. Confirm who provides service in your location and whether travel or call-out charges are separate.
For outsourced laundry, compare the total collection, processing, replacement and turnaround arrangement with an on-site operation. The right decision depends on volume, space, management capacity and service reliability.
Build an equipment acceptance schedule
Before approving the order, ask the supplier to list what will be checked at commissioning: identification, utilities, controls, safety features, representative cycles and staff instruction. Assign a person from operations and facilities to attend and record outstanding items.
Also agree how maintenance will be scheduled around the hotel’s workload. Keep an asset register, service records and a route for escalating faults. A clear handover gives the team a practical basis for managing performance and future replacement decisions.
Request a commercial laundry quotation
Send Wigmore Trading your location, daily and peak laundry estimate, item types, available dimensions, utility information and opening date. Include existing machine details if replacing equipment. Ask for an itemised proposal covering machines, delivery, installation responsibilities, commissioning and support.
